So the Touring will arrive when probably my i4 is due ... damn it
. Thankfully it is probably way more expensive.
Looks ugly as [email protected], like they took an i4 and just threw a bed sheet over it. How are you supposed to drive it, looks like you cant even see out the windshield.View attachment 25163

Digital, dynamic and now also fully electric: the BMW 5 Series enters a new era.
Announcements made at the BMW Group Annual Conference: BMW 5 Series Sedan will also come as all-electric Performance model from BMW M GmbH +++ Launch gets underway in October 2023 +++ BMW i5 Touring due to arrive in spring 2024 as all-electric model in the estate car segmentwww.press.bmwgroup.com
The worldwide launch of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan will get underway in October 2023.
The regular e tron felt so boring, I hope they do better with the a6.Too bad it's not build on an pure-electric platform. Probably means the indoor space will not be optimal.
Luckily Audi is building there A6 on a dedicated EV platform
I just don't get it.Too bad it's not build on an pure-electric platform. Probably means the indoor space will not be optimal.

I'm not implying that it's gonna be bad.I just don't get it.
You assume that because the platform is shared that there is something wrong with that.
The interior space of the i4 is more than my E90 had is on par with an E39 5 series.
BMW doesn't make an ipad on wheels.
Tanzanite over tartufo full individual leather with carbon trim.
I don't think it's a fact. I think it's a possibility, but there are a lot of assumptions in this which may not hold true.I'm not implying that it's gonna be bad.
It is just a fact that an EV which has been built on dedicated EV platform can be more spacious then those who share their platform with ICE/hybrid cars.
Which European nation are you and I moving to so that we can have the i5 Touring?i5 wagon gets me REAL excited. As long as pricing is reasonable, I'll trade in my i4 for the first full-size electric wagon to come to the USA. It can sit next to my (unlifted) V90.
You just need an address and to be there long enough to pick it up and ship it, right?Which European nation are you and I moving to so that we can have the i5 Touring?
And how do I convince my family to join us?
Or do they stay here with my (variable height suspension) A6 Allroad?
Then, I suggest you look at the iX or the Neue Klasse i3/iX3, for the rest of us the i4 and i5 should be good.I'm not implying that it's gonna be bad.

.. EV which has been built on dedicated EV platform can be more spacious ...
Thanks for agreeing with me... I think it's a possibility, but ...
Have you actually driven or taken a seat in the iX3 (which shares its platform with the X3)?Then, I suggest you look at the iX or the Neue Klasse i3/iX3, for the rest of us the i4 and i5 should be good.
Neue Klasse is 2025 - first one will be 3 series replacements including a SUV. (i3 and iX3?)Thanks for agreeing with me

It looks like a decent sized car from the outside, but once inside you notice that it is actually not that big.
A great example is the Ioniq 5. Looks like a Golf from the outside, but once you take a seat ...
Comparing it to the iX3, the Ioniq has smaller dimensions but has a higher TBTP (and that doesn't take into account the other more spacious 'parts' of the car)
If don't care about interior space then none of this is an issue of course.
