Battle of the M badge placement 😁 !!! But for those looking, you really can’t go wrong with either placement location to complete the “OEM+” look on the front of the car with this grille .

For those wanting to add the M badge to the front of this grille, be sure to NOT get the badge for the pre-LCI grill. The pre-LCI grille badge (and possibly the LCI grille badge) has a clip on the back of it to snap into the mounting location on the OEM grille. These M badge emblems are the OEM ones that get installed on the fenders with double-sided 3M tape, which are the same size as the M badge that is installed on the OEM grilles.

I know I’m in the minority, but I actually prefer a center mounted license plate. Helps complete the front end IMO.

I also moved the M badge to a spot that better suits the grille.

I’m very happy with the end result 🙂. All the lines in the front work together and compliment each other now.

I was really hoping you'd forget to install your front plate based on your first pic 😂 Looks great though! This is one of the better aftermarket products for the car IMO

Keep going. It’s honestly not difficult. Just look at where the clips are on the aftermarket grille and work your way around with the trim tool popping out the original.

Does it come off on two pieces?

There are 2 pieces to the front grille, yes, but they should come out as one. If not, start with the one piece then remove the other.

Thanks. So I’ve started this after watching the video and I’ve slid the removal tools in and started to pull - but when I do only the trim seems to be pulling out not the body/center of the grill??
Does that come off separately? Or am I doing something wrong?

Looking back at your pics, you've got your trim tool between the grille and surround (which are separate parts) which is forcing them to separate. Make sure your trim tool is behind the grille to pop it all out in one piece.

Yes, that is the correct part number for the Cerium Grey fender M badge.

I'm still undecided on whether or not I should install the grille badge. I really don't like the Cerium Grey color. I wonder whether the black badge would look good or blend in too much in that area

Take a look at the LCI M3/M4 grille badge to get an idea of what a black badge would look like. I just recently realized this aftermarket grille is more modeled after the LCI M3/M4 grille than the LCI i4 M50 grille - which I am fine with actually.

That said, I think the black badge blends in a bit too much and I like the contrast with the Cerium Grey badge.

It's such a subtle change, but makes all the difference IMO. The front end just looks so much more cohesive with this grille
