So here are my reasons for ordering Alpine White:
  1. Here in the Netherlands any other color than Alpine white will cost you almost 1.300 euro’s extra. Exactly the same as the price for a sunroof. So it was really a choice between “white & sunroof” versus “no sunroof” (altough I could also have taken out the electric front seats of course). I like sunroofs.

  2. When visiting the BMW factory in Munich a couple of years ago I was told that Alpine White is actually the only color that is applied in 3 sequences. Versus 2 for all other colors. So it must be stronger. And nicer. And more special. At least that is what the Bavarian lady in Munich told me. I believe her.

  3. My current BMW was painted in Saphirschwarz metallic. And after 50.000 km’s of course there are some minor dents on the hood and front bumper. Nothing out of the ordinairy but on this black paint it is just so very visible. All my white cars stayed much cleaner. The dents were there as well of course, you just don’t see them that much. Which I like, a lot.

  4. It makes the grille stand out. I am not ashame of it. As a matter of fact I like it a lot. Just wait till you stand in front of it, face to grille. It's a statement. Who needs boring cars?

  5. I actually quite like Alpine White. It’s fresh. There is a warm glow to it. Not refrigerator white like the Volvo I once owned. And I will allways give any white 4 Series Gran Coupe a second glance. And no doubt it will be much better in real life than on screen, hopefully. Especially with the Vernasca Tacorarot leather.

  6. I really would not know what to choose from all of these other colors. Nothing too dark or any of these matte colors please. And nothing too fancy. So what other choices are there, actually?

  7. Here in the Netherlands white is actually considered a cheap color. Because it costs less. People in the South know better, it's a great color of course. But over here, they don't know that. So they try to avoid it. Except when they are on a lease budget. But in that case they would not choose a M50, right. They would just get a refrigerator white VW ID4. Which is great, because it will make my very personal i4 just that little bit more unique.
So that’s why I guess 😉
Kind regards, have a colorful life!

When leasing, it is actually cheaper to pick a metallic color as they are convinces it increases the resale value. Even metallic white over regular white. Another good reason to go for white is that it is much cooler in the summer, requiring less power for AC meaning longer range!

Exactly, which is why you see so many white cars in the south of Europe. And the sunroof will also help in keeping the car cool. It will be a cool car 🌞

The BMW I have now is Mineral White. It is a phenomenal color, as it enhances all the design details on the car, and the color changes a LOT, based on how the light hits it. Next BMW will be Mineral white as well.

I am intrigued about your comment concerning more layers on the Alpine white though. I will have to look into that. :)

Yeah! I was looking to darker colors like black or Dravit grey but it looks fantastic and now I'm thinking this!

Looking really good. I know the video says Alpine White but I would claim that to be Mineral White. Either way (y)

Nice to see M50 without rear spoiler. Looks ok. My plan is to take the car without spoiler.
