Yes, I've experienced it multiple times recently. I believe this happens if you are using Plug and Charge but have selected a different contract. I corrected it by selecting the EA contract and reconnecting.

 

Similar thing happened to me, credit card I had associated with the account was cancelled (stolen mid trip and then cancelled, actually). Putting a new card in fixed it.

Hello, I was having the same issue. Electrify America explained to me that the issue is that you have to go through the My BMW app. If not you are not using the 2 year free charging promotion.

 

I have plug and charge, and it was flawless until about two weeks ago. I charge a lot at EA because I'm still in the two year window and it's convenient. About two weeks ago, I got an authentication error. Went to the next charger and plug and charge worked. Next time out, happened again - I use the BMW app to initiate and it worked. The next time, plug and charge had no problem. I did nothing to fix it (one of the things I'm good at).
