Agreed. After the video, I won't be too sad not getting it. But I want that manual pre heat button
Agreed. After the video, I won't be too sad not getting it. But I want that manual pre heat buttonHmm based on the demo, I would actually prefer to stay on 8.0 with the tiles.
I only use the map if I'm using the route planning.
99% of the time I have Spotify in fullscreen
Thanks for sharing…So, I didn't get an answer from the german guy mentioned in the press release yet, but I got an answer from BMW Switzerland.
As they underand it, 8.5 will come to all i4's. He didn't knew about the manual pre conditioning but he will write me when he knows more.
Bimmercode don't fail me nowalready OS7/OS8 had some video streaming for BMWs in China. Also TV for Japan and more.
Like the German football streaming in OS8 (Pilot for the G70).

I don't think all models will get it. I will be surprise if I get the update....Looks like we will at least get 8.5!

iDrive 8.5 coming to certain U.S. models this July
Starting from July production, BMW iDrive 8.5 will be implemented in the following BMW models: iX, i4, and 7 Serieswww.bmwblog.com
Well hopefully i4 will include all models. If it's just a software update i can't see how they could exclude any models, then again BMW does what they want...I don't think all models will get it. I will be surprise if I get the update....
Instruction set is different and will have limitation on what it can do.Well hopefully i4 will include all models. If it's just a software update i can't see how they could exclude any models, then again BMW does what they want...
Dealer won't do it unless you pay out of pocket. If it is OTA though, and the download is corrupted, the checksum would fail and the car/MyBMW app on the phone will re-download.I could live without iDrive 8.5. I do wonder how it would be downloaded...............I'd rather go to the dealer and have it installed instead of OTA, because if it gets corrupted it would brick your car.
Beginning with July production, BMW Operating System 8.5 will be introduced in BMW iX models, BMW i4 models, and BMW 7 Series models. In August, the new system will be fitted to BMW X5 and X6 models (M models will not feature QuickSelect), BMW X7 models, and BMW XM (without QuickSelect).
