BMW is giving out a $100 EVgo charging credit starting December 2020:

Recognizing the critical importance of public charging infrastructure to EV drivers in the U.S., BMW is also partnering with EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast charging network and the first in the U.S. to be powered by 100% renewable energy. The new BMW Charging service will provide BMW EV and PHEV drivers with access to EVgo’s 800 fast charging stations and to over 35,000 Level 2 partner charging network stations via an easy to use mobile app, underscoring BMW’s commitment to a high performance and zero emissions driving experience. Staring in December 2020, buyers and lessees of qualifying fully electric BMW models will receive $100 in EVgo charging credit that can be used through the BMW Charging app at EVgo and partner network stations across all 50 states.

I wish BMW gave us more than a $100 credit. For crying out loud VW gave their ID.4 buyers 3 free years of charging with Electrify America!

We might have some luck with dealers load up more as an incentive to get our business. So there's some hope at that level.

BMW Corp knows you'll buy regardless. VW on the other hand is in a much more competitive market.

BMW definitely thinks like that but still it'd be nice to throw us a bone once and a while. Especially with how eager they are to be a major EV player.

Problem is, it won't change ROI by anything meaningful and thus no motivation for BMW Corp to do it. That does however shift more locally (dealers, charging networks, etc.) and we should all keep an eye out on what happens. I'll be sure to share my findings!
