Interestingly, there are 289 listings for the 2021 M4 nation-wide. I did not expect to see so many.

And the largest BMW dealer in all of North America has 9 of them right now.

People who hate the new grill should try go to a dealer and see it in person. It is much better looking in real life compared to pictures online. Personally I think the M4 nose is sexier looking than the regular 4 series nose and hope the i4 is closer to the M4 looks in this matter.

While that will help a bit, M3 and M4 sales have dropped off a cliff and in the coming weeks we could expect news from BMW about design changes. I don't know how else they can bounce back from this than by redesigning the front.

I think it's extremely progressive. I don't really love it, but I don't hate it the way some do.

I can see that on a conventional machine like the M4 its a hard sell. On a vehicle like the i4 it should be easier to make work.

I think EV buyers are a bolder group and can handle wild new designs.

All of us here know the answer. Electric vehicles are the future and ICE vehicles are living in the past. An M4 is for the person behind the curve while a Model S P100D is for the person going places. Why choose ICE when you can have even better performance from an EV that is more sustainable?

I presume many of us are here because while we love the idea of a Tesla, we also love the BMW brand. Or maybe Tesla is too common. Or maybe you don't want to be associated with Elon.

Whatever the reason, the i4 is the future of BMW, and the M4 will gradually become even more irrelevant.

The final nail in the coffin will be when the i4 coupe dual or tri motor is announced. At that point, the great M3/M4 story will be history. The end of the M3 is coming before you know it.

IIRC I think they're trying to draw inspiration from their cars from the 40's-50's, which is fine but they could've done a better job making it less aggressive. It's not the end of the world for me because I like it on the i4 more but I get why people are upset about it.

2) In Southern California, where more //M models are sold than anywhere else in the world, dealer built floor models are not sitting for more than 24 hours.

3) Crevier in Orange County, CA might have some beef with your San Antonio claims.

But there is a concerning drop of new M3/M4 sales it seems. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Have you seen any of them on the road lately or to be soon?

Yeah Tesla is an interesting reason to give. I wouldn't have imagined they'd be stealing a lot of M buyers.

I know a few //M enthusiasts personally who have no plans to buy the car based on pictures. I haven't seen any on the road but a person I work with today has seen 2 M4s just yesterday.

The online community is leaning 75% hate it and 25% love it. But I'm old enough to remember the Bangel years and the e6X and e9X and how much everyone hated those. Now people lust after them.

The Crevier numbers are wrong, its pulling any m4xx. Anytime you type in M4 it also comes up with m440i's, You have to put a space after m4 so it doesn't look for any designation of m4XX... Go back on crevier website, type in M4(space) and you'll see the only have 7 total 2021 M4's, not 47. They do have 40 m440i's haha

I think its actually really aggressive and bordering beautiful. The m440i on the other hand look funky, even the M3 is a but strange, but the M4 seems to pull it off!

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. Even sold orders will have pictures taken and be online until after the car has been delivered.
