BMW XM media test drives have started

God, that thing is ugly. But it screams "MONEY" so I get it. There's no cheap or budget version of this.
Does anybody remember the iPhone app "I am Rich"? 1000$ just to have an icon to show that you paid 1000$. Same thing with this one. This car has a big badge on it saying: "My driver paid almost 200 grand for me".

I'm just wondering how it actually drives as a real M, because I cannot image this is close to any other real M car. This thing weighs almost 2.8 tonnes vs. 2.2 tonnes for an X5/6M or 1.9 tonnes for an X3/4M. There's a reason BMW did not do an X7M, because you just cannot drive a car like that on a track with all the weight.

HAHAHA! I agree its so ugly to me too. I'd stick with a Ice M until more electric M models come out. No way I would splurge on this.

It's not even fully electric. Just a hybrid.

M2 still takes the fugly crown for me... It’s like every line and shape contradict each others, at least the XM’s body lines are consistent…

For an SAV, I like the look; it's like a Transformer somehow. At least it elicits emotion!

I don't get what BMW saw in their design boss when he was hired, he is at best a very mediocre stylist. One thing is to design an ugly car, another is removing styling what makes a brand recognizable and replacing it with what other brands look like. This guy is doing both.

I try to put the XM out of mind because it bums me out so much that this is the new M halo vehicle. It's so lame in every way. Gigantix SUV. Hybrid. Quite expensive. Ugly in a tacky way. Just a big bummer.

I like it! The hard edges make it look military almost.

Yeah, it looks terrible. But this is the future of BMW. They're catering to their number 1 market, China.

Not a fan at all.

I just think it is really sad that the delivery driver ran them all into the same brick wall 😢

Was someone saying on the EV9 thread that it looked like a storm trooper? Is the storm trooper SUV a trend? The RAV4 and 4Runner also seem like the Empire is striking back.

My guess is they will sell on Storm Trooper white, Black Vader and Kylo Gray
