So Ticket or Warning only for your death-defying stunt??

Hey what are the two G-force numbers on there? One is for the curve you are going around, what is the other? Could it be acceleration and you DID get above 80 by the time the cop clocked you?!

I would say there are many fine officers out there but they are all people, and inherently imperfect. Once upon a time in a Driving School (part of my penalty for a ticket in my younger days - way before EVs) the officer teaching the class was trying to impress upon (or Scare, in my opinion) the class how "speed kills" and blah blah... He stated "Modern cars' engines have gotten so powerful that they overwhelm the brakes". Being familiar with the 0-60, 60-0 AND the 0-100-0 times of many high performance and regular old cars, and that the braking times were ALWAYS quicker, I raised my hand and politely disagreed, and started to describe the physics of it as indicated by these measures of performance.
I was basically told I was flat wrong, and to keep quiet.

I recently saw a video that stated the Model S Plaid is the only car that can accelerate faster than it can brake (0-60 anyway). However that is due to inadequate brakes.

I don't know if you can take his single snide comment to mean he has it out for i4's in general. Probably just his way of shaming you, as they sometimes feel the need to.
I got pulled out in the country once... I had been following a old POS pickup with crap piled high in the back. He was going real slow, I finally passed him but went a bit too fast in doing so for the officer coming the other way. He tried to shame me for driving so dangerously with my family in the car with me. Bite me. Nothing dangerous about what I did.

Better go read your state's driving manual, guys. In some jurisdictions you are actually allowed to exceed the speed limit by a specific amount to execute a pass on a 2-lane road. In all my moves for the military, I've read 6 or 7 state drivers' manuals. That's an easy ticket to fight in court if it's applicable to your state if you know 3 things: the speed of the vehicle you passed, the speed at which you passed and the speed limit on the road in question. You can't just barrel up behind someone and blow by them, you've got to match speed behind them, then execute the pass.

...but there are @$$#073 cops everywhere.
I got a ticket for 55 in a 55 zone in Minnesota because I had the audacity to pass a town cop who was driving at 50 on a 4-lane road.
"Do you know why I pulled you over?"
No, the speed limit is 55 and my cruise control was set for 55.
"If you passed me, that means you were speeding."
I'm sorry, say what now? 🤨
...and it was a dang summons ticket, but I was due to get on a plane to Japan in 3 days. That was a royal PITA to deal with, but the points were already gone before I got back to the US. 🤣
Well that's handy but sort of academic; the cop saw nothing but me coming at him (in his lane :) ) doing ~70. Bottom line is you get the inconvenience and potentially the cost, whether you think you are in the right or not.

55mph, that's a new one. I got one for doing 56! I was following a K-9 unit doing EXACTLY 55 on a Wide Open major state route when it opened up to 2 lanes. I had a 4 hr drive ahead of me and didn't want to drive 55 the whole way, so I moved over and S-l-o-w-l-y passed him and he saw me as a young man in a Camaro (gimme a break it was the 90's) and just had to pull me over! He asked what I thought was going to happen when I passed an "officer", I said, I thought you would be cool and let me drive safely on....
