My SW got updated to 03/2023.27 and was told I already have SIB to fix gps issue with this update I drove back without gps issue so far, only time will tell. I don’t see any significant changes aside from recall fix and SIB.
Interesting note, my coding was wiped out as expected but somehow I’m still able to close trunk with keyfob by holding down open trunk button. Not sure new SW added this feature.
Good news!

my software is 11/2022.63 & I was told that’s the latest. Is that not the case? Keep in mind I have a 230i not an i4

When were you told it was the latest? The 03/2023 has just been released in the last week or so.

Tuesday 9:40 am. Can I do an upgrade myself or have to go to dealer?
Print out the NHTSA PDF listed above and take it to your dealer.

Yeah, I’d go to a different dealer and show them pdf, it’s kind of new issue some dealers don’t know about it. I was the first to fix this at my dealer according to SA.
Good point. Any Service Center can work on the car.

Just spoke to somebody in the executive offices at BMW. That bulletin has nothing to do with our situation. She explained it a little bit. It has to do with BMW navigation coordinates. It has absolutely nothing to do with Apple Car Play

I'm sure I'm going to jinx myself, but I haven't actually come across this issue yet across the first few hours of apple maps that I've been testing against. My car was built in Dec 2022.
Hi! My car also built in December 2022 (delivered in Feb 2023) but has this drift issue. Though, I drove it today and It was fine. But before that, every time I used apple car play with google maps, I was off and it was really irritating. I'll keep trying it to see how often it happens.

It must be location more than anything. I've yet to experience it either in about 1k miles, and I only use Waze via CarPlay for navigation. Now it will probably happen tomorrow. :)

I just got a message from one of my executive contacts at BMW (specifically, he is the head of technical service for all North American dealers). He mentioned that yes, BMW is aware of this issue and that a fix will be available "very soon" (in his own words). So that implies that it's not fixed yet. He has seen the issue (again intermittently) on his own vehicle so is definitely aware of it. I responded back to him thanking him for acknowledging the issue and asking that we as owners get clear messaging on when the fix will be available and how to get it.

Wow, it's nice having a contact high up. As a software developer, I can tell you that nothing prioritizes a bug fix faster than an executive that experiences the bug themselves in the real world.

Can you ask him when we're getting stop sign / traffic light recognition in US? :)

Thanks so much, @tonyquan! This is indeed very helpful...
