I almost bought an i4 in Tanzanite Blue with cognac... it looked great, but so does Canberra beige. As much as I dislike the word beige, I think I'd go with the Canberra.

I don't think that is a representative photo of Cognac. I ordered SRG with Cognac, and here is a shot of the interior of one I looked at before pulling the trigger.

Found a shot of the interior of the Tanzanite/Cognac I almost bought.
Interesting how much less orange it looks than my other photo... all about the light. In person it is decidedly not beige!

I have the cognac and love it, but it is all personal preference. I too would be afraid of too hard to keep the Canberra clean.

How about cognac? I wear jeans a lot and am concerned about the indigo dye staining the cognac SensaTec. Have you had your i4 long?
