I have read the other drivetrain malfunction error threads on the forum but non of them describe a "Drivetrain Fault" message.
I got the message parking at a grocery store today. Red message "Drivetrain Fault, Drive Carefully". I turned the car off got groceries and came back to the alert still illuminated.
I drove home approx 2 miles and the message persisted and did not change. So turned the car off, held the volume control button in for a few seconds and the screen went dark flashed like a soft reboot and no error. I drove the car for another mile or so around the neighborhood and nothing came up.
You all have any thoughts. Do I rush this to the dealer or drive it and see if it comes back? Is there something I can check? I have bimmercode and the Bluetooth connector can I use it to read codes?
