Ensuring highest quality out of native Spotify app

I don't see any sound quality settings in the native Spotify app in iDrive 8.5. Does anyone know if the sound quality defaults to "Very High"? You can set this in the app on your phone and desktop, but not sure how it is set in the app in iDrive 8.5. Does it key off of what you have in your phone?

I believe its set to "Very High" or maybe auto.

Slightly unrelated, but I read somewhere that turning off the volume normalization option in the iOS app makes the CarPlay version sound just as good as the native version. I have yet to try/confirm this myself though

Yes, I've done that. (A lot of people argue about whether that makes any difference). So far, for me, the native BMW Spotify app sounds better than anything coming from my iPhone via CarPlay. I also have a usb drive installed, with ALAC files on it, and I can't tell the difference in quality between them and native Spotify.
