You have a Genius email address?? Please pass along. I got no response from my SA about the discount or the 1.9% financing offer someone mentioned other forum. Looks like thise options are quietly going away!

I sent the e mail confirming my veteran status to the salesman. He reached back out to me. He said they will be running my card today for the deposit which to me is good news, I am for sure in some kind of line now.

He also said : And as far as the military incentive is concerned it depends on what the rebate is at exactly when we lock you in. At the 4 months put spot when we also locked the credit. But yes you will be eligible for that incentive.

Edit: I assume put was supposed to be out.

So I would guess it may still be 2k, but like any promotion, they can change with the season right? I doubt we will get the 1.9% financing since the feds are jacking up the rates.

Today was a good day. I had a radio show to do in Denver, so I took a nice long soak in the bath, then headed into town. It was a good show, we do a car talk on the Tom Martino troubleshooter show.

After the shoe since I was in town I figured I would stop by BMW in Denver for a test drive. They had an i4 M50 demo, so I got to do a couple of launches and tool around a bit in a relaxing environment. It was way better then the track event I went to last year. I also got to see the crystal shift knob in person. I am buying the upgrade kit for sure, the crystal looked great.

I then went up to Gebhardt and asked my SA to show me a 4 series with the HK sound. I played Boston Foreplay/Long time. It was a bit muddy for my taste, but not bad for OEM. I played Rage against the machine and the mids were impressive. I will definitely be replacing the factory speakers as one of the first upgrades.

My SA said I should be about 3 or 4 weeks away from placing my order. They moved me to the front of the list, he said since I gave up my allocation last year I have now been technically waiting the longest.

So exciting!

I know I will at least want to do a subwoofer. I have a nice mosconi gladen amp and a mosconi dsp that I would love to repurpose in the car, but I do not think they would have the channels. I am very curious about some of the plug and play amps I see posted through out the forums.

The HK does have a sub in the trunk... It'll be interesting to see what you think once you've heard the i4 setup.

I get it. I had Absolutely Creative Customs in Boulder do my Impreza and Terry's Highlander. Audio is important to me, and there was a time I did the full audiophile thing (Stereophile subscription and attending multiple shows over the years before going B&W 801s at home, etc.). I don't consider myself an audiophile any more, and I'm not willing to go 5 figures for audio, but I still have pretty astute ears. And, with Bob's EQ, the i4's OE HK is pretty darn good.

When we meet, you can give it a listen.

I let those hacks (ACC in Boulder) do my M3 stereo as I thought it would be nice to finally have a "Profesional" install a stereo for me. Worse stereo i stall I ever experienced. He made boxes out of wood and vinyl for the A pillars, instead of fiberglass like most pro's would, they looked awful. He failed to properly tune the mosconi DSP. When I logged into the DSP he had the cross overs all wrong and had the gains set so that the bass amp would clip any time you put a load on it. To make things worse, he had my car for an entire month to do an install that would have taken me 2 or 3 days. I was so depressed after spending all that money to have such a horrible job done. I would have gone back, but I did not want to lose the car for another month or more as he tried to make it right. I should have left him a bad review, but I did not want the negative karma.

I do not know how well he did on your cars, but if you think the HK sounds as good as a well done 5 figure system, there is a chance you are a victim also and do not know it.

It would be neat to see how the I4 sounds compared to my leaf that I just put a set of infinity components and a little bit of dampening material in the doors.

Wow! So sorry to hear your experience with them... my experience was very different (although their communication is almost as bad as BMW's). They did use fiberglass for both the cars, and they sounded very good when he was done. But, again, so sorry to hear what happened to you... I didn't have him do anything to my 330 or the i4, since the HK was very good in the 330 and even better in the i4 (except that I really miss the under-seat woofers!).

Anyway, proof is in the listening, so it'll be fun to hear what you think...

My dealer got in a shipment of i4 M50's this week, and I got to check out the one in my color!

And, I got to drive my dealers demo i4 from the new car lot to the delivery lot, alone! My SA said here is the keys, meet me over there, take your time. What a birthday treat. I have to say, the regular i4 is very powerfull. I found myself wondering if I really need the M50. But of course, it is for the AWD right, that is the excuse!

It was a long time since I filled out the form, I forget if I had to go through a process for eligibility. I did not find out for sure.

Dug through my old emails, and here is what I was told:

Hopefully you get it. I was not able to get the military discount last year, but maybe things have changed! I'm not aware of anyone getting it on this forum. I know many of us had to fight/push real hard to get the 1.9% rate that was promised for the preorders.

Today was a good day. Started out with breakfast with the family at IHOP. There was a man there making balloons for the kids.

Then we stopped by BMW of downtown Denver. The kids and I did a couple sport boost Launch Mode take offs in the M50. Was great to experience. It is funny, and kind of cool, how the car shakes while "Power Braking" to put it into launch mode. My daughters were blown away.

Then we headed to the Cherry Creak mall where we got to sit inside a Lucid Touring Sedan. That car feels like the Mercedes should. I enjoyed the massage seats. 500 miles of range. I could see trading my M50 in on one of these in the future.

I picked up a new watch for my birthday:

Then we spent too much on dinner at 801 Chop House. I had the porter house and my wife had the entire Ocean it seemed.

All in all a great end to my birthday week. Got to play the Diablo 4 beta last night too if anyone is interested.

It was nice to try out launch mode in the M50. I feel like I have experienced everything this great car features now except for the HK system. I can not wait to lock in my order and start tracking in my online garage.
