I bought some 1/4" pinstripe tape to experiment with. It leaves a sliver of gray showing which almost looks factory. I like it and will probably leave it this way now. If it discolors, its easy to replace. Best $6 mod I have come across for my car!

That looks great! I agree - the thin strip of grey isn’t enough to worry about IMO. Nice that it almost completely covers it without having to cut anything.

Have you tried using it on the rear diffuser grey pieces?
That looks excellent. I had mine done as part of a PPF wrap but would definitely have had a go at this if I hadn't.

I'm sure a lot of people would like a link to the tape you bought. I assume it was flexible enough to bend around the curves but I'm surprised there is no wrinkling.

Probably can do 3/8 pin strip and it will cover it all. It’s about 3mm thicker then 1/4 (6mm) pin strip

Need a link to the tape please.
Does anybody know if its removable or not? I tried prying it and it seems to be removable by clips but i`m not sure and i would hate to brake it.

I found a few on Amazon just buy one designed for automotive use.
Did you already have the shadowline grill?

I bought it from O'Reillys Auto Parts. Was actually only $3.99!

I almost feel like any wider and it would wrinkle. But then again I was amazed at how easily I could bend the 1/4" tape around the curves.

Heatgun comes in hand for this, I will try it out and report back.

How long did it take for you to do the whole grill?
How long did it take for you to do the whole grill?
Perhaps an hour. Goes quicker than you imagine. You just steer where you want the tape to do, pulling the wax paper off 3 inches at a time with the same hand, while smoothing it down with the other hand. Then run a rag with pressure down the whole perimeter. If you go out of alignment, just pull it back off a little and re apply it. No harm, and we are only talking a $4 investment! Im thoroughly happy so far. Actually backed my car up in my driveway, as I now think the front of the car looks as good as the back.

Yes, car has shadowline. I was trying to delete as much of the bright trim as possible.
Did you also try using the pin striping tape on the rear diffuser grey trim?
Really nicely done! I am getting my grille wrapped next week. (I have the full silver grille.)

Dumb me! I don’t have shadow line at all I can’t do it. I have a lot more silver trim.
Picking up my car tomorrow and going to see my vinyl guy on Thursday. I‘m getting the silver trim on the grill covered but I’m also curious if anyone has seen anything new or interesting, any new ideas or substrates that are being added to the grill to make it less shiny? Car was tinted at the dealer yesterday and I have an appt Tuesday after Memorial Day to get the calipers painted red. Found a local shop for the calipers.
