Just out of curiosity, are there any sources around the rear view mirror console that can be tapped into for a switched power source?
There are YouTube videos showing the tapping into a rear view mirror power source, but I am not willing to remove any parts of the mirror module or, for that matter, any moldings or other interior components to hide wiring. I will also advise that I have seen posts and/or ads for a dash cam that is already integrated into a mirror housing which completely replaces the BMW's mirror housing (can't recall the name of its manufacturer).

I'm kind of new to this forum. Could you possibly post the thread? Thank you!

See attached. You can do your own homework on this to verify, but BMW's i4 front fuse box assignment displays that slots F32 and F36 with a symbol that appears to be an alarm. This would probably be continuous.

Hi, was wondering if anyone had access to the passenger side foot well fusebox diagram. Currently trying to hardwire a dash cam and would love to know which fuses power what. Or if anyone has already successfully hardwired a dash cam for parking mode, which fuses did you tap? Thanks!

Thank you for starting this thread. I was going to start a similar one because I want to install a rear right 12V socket, which they deleted from my car.

Also: does anyone have pictures of the passenger side foot well fusebox? Just removed the plastic trim and uh....it wasn't there :(

The manual contains the link to this page:
Thank you. I missed that, but I can still not understand why this isn't at least part of the pdf manual, but it should be part of the printed one also, just like other technical data, like battery capacity and all the other data related to the car.

So the console 12v outlet is fused in this box located under the right hand glove box? Slot F46 or F47?

I speculate F47 because F46 doesn't have a fuse in it. I didn't confirm because I was too lazy to pull the fuse and test it. I just installed a radar detector with a fuse tap. F46 wasn't giving me any power, but maybe my fuse tap wasn't long enough getting a good connection. So instead of trying to pull F47 and use that, I just went with F53. It turns off with the car and the indicator implies it is for towing. Anyway, that worked great for me and was easier to get to.
