Today I went to my tire guy who I've been going to for 10 years because I had a bubble in my right passenger tire. Having said that. After measuring the thread depth. I need 4 tires. When I asked if I could get Hancocks, he gave me a look that said I should do otherwise. Anyone else not a fan of Hankook tires?

I am a fan of them.
have always been driving with Michelin, continental and Goodyear.
i changed my rear tires last summer having done 35000 km. My tire mechanic said they could do half a season more.
my front tires are still doing good, now having driven 45000. Value for money is guide good. They are also very quit.
if you would change to another brand I would go for Michelin.

That's what I did. I went with Michelin.

Hankooks are the worst tires I ever owned and since it came with the car, I wanted to replace them as soon I have the chance. Dealer told me I have to replacing them @ 14,000 miles (yes they were all wear down to 4/32) Those hankook tires don’t grip, short life and noisy. After replacing them with Michelin pilot sport 4s. Nights and day. Car felt more stable during cornering and much quieter on the freeway. Only Michelin is worthy on my car. Period.

I agree, Hankook are terrible tires. I had them as oem on my American made turbo diesel 2013 VW Passat TDI 6 spd manual. The tread pattern gave me problems with the grating on large bridges, which could cause drivers not paying attention to easily crash. As soon as it rained I hydroplaned on the freeway at only 50 mph so I replaced them with Continentals after only 1 month. With my 2019 GTI it came with Pirelli all season tires that chirped in the corners. I swapped them out for performance summer tires with less than 1,000 miles on them. The local tire shop gave me some credit for them.

For the gunmetal Aero 18” wheels I use the Bridgestone star rated tires, but next time I need tires I’ll go with the GoodYear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 (made in Germany 🇩🇪) that are also made for EVs and are more efficient than the non star rated Michelins.

Hankooks are ok tires, they are quiet, have low rolling resistance which will give you a bit of extra range, but they don’t corner as well as Michelins PS4 tires (BMW star version). If you don’t drive spiritedly and you appreciate a quiet and efficient drive, keep them. If you appreciate excellent handling and you want to corner faster, get the PS4 tires.

I’m on my third set of Michelins PS4 after the OEM Hankook set, and I’ll likely go with all season tires after to get some extra life out of them and be able to drive in freezing temps, but I haven’t decided. If you drive through snow at all, the summer tires are terrible, they harden too much, almost no traction in slush and they can crack too.

I agree with the others here. Mine came with the Hankooks. Efficient and quiet - Yes, but if you like driving, they didn't give any appreciable road feedback and left me with no confidence the car could take a corner safely - especially if wet. On paper they have good specs, but just don't communicate that to the driver.
If as mentioned above, you just drive around town etc. They are Ok.
I replaced with PS5 (non-star) and the performance was like a different car. The Hankook have a 220 Treadwear rating and the PS5 has 340, so longer wearing as well.
The only down side is a little less efficiency.

Mine need replacing soon as well, but I have not yet made up my mind what I will replace them with - other than they will not be Hankooks, as I like to have confidence mid corner, which the Hankooks for me did not deliver at all.

I am getting approx 0.2 miles per kW less than when I had the Hankooks. It does improve with wear, so now maybe only 0.1 less, but overall they are softer tyres.
Overall on balance I would say definitely the Michelins are better. Hankook is a little better for efficiency, but all else goes heavily in Michelin's favour.
I am on PS5 (currently only on the rear), but all need replacing soon. I would not recommend the Michelin PS4S for an EV, but the PS4 or PS5 yes.
In saying that I have not yet decided on what I will replace mine with. Maybe Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6, or there is a Continental Sport 7, but in the past I found Continental wear really fast so were not economical to run (That was on ICE vehicles, so I expect even worse for an EV).
I'm trying to find the best efficiency, while not loosing too much of the driving enjoyment, wear and performance that the PS5 gave me.
Unfortunately tyre reviews mostly are for marketing and clicks and really do not give solid usable information. The tyres tested and the way data is conveyed can be misleading. For example an 18" 45 profile 225 width tyre may be great in the test, but will not necessarily translate the same to a 19" 40 profile 255 width version. Also being tested on light weight ICE cars.
I'm doing a lot of reading to try and narrow down my options - will probably in the end make a mistake anyway...

My car is still on its original Hankooks, I don't like them at all. I mean, they do the job I suppose, but they're a bit "skaty" for me.

Planning to replace them with Vredestein all-weather tyres as soon as I get a minute to sort it. Unless anyone has any better ideas?

I like the Michelin PS5 - apart from the lower efficiency (compared to the Hankook BMW * S1 Evo 3).
I found on the Michelin UK site, that the BMW star version of the PS4 has an A rating for efficiency and noise, but only B for wet performance. The standard version had a C for efficiency, B for noise and A for Wet performance, so it looks like BMW traded off wet safety for efficiency. Unfortunately no actual test data to compare, so I don't know how much worse in the wet they are.
The PS5 is apparently more efficient, longer wearing and better performing than the standard PS4. There is no Star version of the PS5.
We need proper comparative tyre testing - not the biased, youtube/magazine light-weight hot hatch fizz-box rubbish that is pretty much all we currently have to go by.
Other than that, real feedback from other i4 owners is the best we have.
