Well I really like my 228i, it is really a refined sports car in disguise. The i4 seems to be a bit bigger than I would want BUT its range (if A Better Route Planner is reliable) is good enough for my travelling purposes.Welcome to the forum @rwjr44! What things are you looking for the i4 to deliver for you to order one? Are you considering any other EVs?
Is there a specific amount of range you'd need from the i4.Well I really like my 228i, it is really a refined sports car in disguise. The i4 seems to be a bit bigger than I would want BUT its range (if A Better Route Planner is reliable) is good enough for my travelling purposes.
I would hope for a more refined ride while maintaining high handling standards. I have always liked BMW's build quality and reliability (Perhaps I've just been lucky).
I have seriously considered Tesla cars but have been put off by my experiences with its personnel AND their build quality. I have looked at the iPace but it is too big. The Porsche is too expensive. The Polestar is not to my tastes.
I think the range specified by BMW would be fine. I usually stop for Breakfast and a snack so one longer stop and two short stops when travelling from Tidewater, VA -> Atlanta, GA would be fine. I am no longer in a hurry when making long trips. I would be a bit worried if I were travelling to Caribou, ME or some other isolated location. Is there a specific amount of range you'd need from the i4.
The 2 Series has been underrated in BMW's lineup. It really fits a need for enthusiasts. There have been rumours that BMW is working on an electric 2 Series but it's not clear if it's just a concept or an actual production model.

I was considering a Tesla Model 3 or Y but both are too plain for me. I am not a crossover or SUV fan. The minimalist interior of the Tesla is fine but the material looks cheap. I prefer sporty sedans. The i4 will replace my hybrid BMW 530e and be my fourth BMW and first EV.Welcome to the forum @rwjr44! What things are you looking for the i4 to deliver for you to order one? Very exciting stuff @vestokes! With how BMW has priced the i4 it's a much more appealing package to me over a Model 3 or Model Y. What other BMWs have you owned along with the 530e?I was considering a Tesla Model 3 or Y but both are too plain for me. I am not a crossover or SUV fan. My first was a 1 series which I traded in because it was too small with very little trunk space. I replaced it with a 328i. My current is a 2019 BMW 530e.Very exciting stuff @vestokes!
