I visited my local BMW dealership to see a similar spec e35 as my reserved one to get a better idea what I will be getting in 2-3 weeks from now. One observation I had is the low percentage of parts supplied in Germany (24%). The i4 e40 in the showroom was over 60.

One of the selling points was the fact they build their motor and assemble their battery packs in house. Is this not the case for the e35? This could be a cost saving since the e40 is $4k more.

Also, I am sure it is noted some where else but the cup holder placement isn’t perfect when dealing with taller drinks. Still a lot better than the Polestar 2.

Here are a few pictures. The red interior does look real good.

BTW as far as I know this i4 is still available. The dealership in BMW of Sudbury (MA).

I thought my SA said these were assembled in north america (mexico) and so stilleligible for the tax break, but that may have changed with a recent political vote.

I4s are assembled in Munich. My papers for mine says so. There is no 7500 unless you bought before August 2022? And took delivery last year.

if you lease the e35, BMW is offering/passing down the 7500 that the loophole in the law provides.

The two credit eligible cars at this point are 330e is San Louis Potosí and X5 is Spartanburg. Ill bet the plan right now is to move the e35 production to Mexico and make that one vehicle eligible for the credit, while leaving theother two in the Munich plant.

Could be. They are expanding Spartanburg and adding a battery plant and may be doing that in Mexico, as well.

Nice! The Satin aluminum window trim―in lieu of Shadowline―is an interesting choice, though.

Agree, I think with the exterior and interior colors the showdoline would be a better choice.

However, my reserved i4 e35 is San Remo Green Metallic with Cognac Perforated SensaTec interior with the satin window trim. Which seems to fit the more classic colors.
