Yup - I was happy to see mine "In Transit" for a week, and then it flipped back to "At the Port" four days ago and the genius line is of no help...says to check back next week. I marvel at how some of you know which boat it's on! Just practicing my Zen patience and hoping that if I get this thing at MSRP I'll be beating inflation back a tiny bit!

My car is sitting at the port for 10 days and I’m worried. I thought the logistics problem was getting better. Any of you have the car sitting at port longer than 10 days?
All of the delays at port mentioned are to be expected. This is no different than many other products. Shipping could easily take 1 - 2 months or even more. This is the world we live in today.

I ordered on June 9th last year, I440 with sport package. It was originally to be produced the third week of March and was moved back to first week of June. It has been at the port for over a week. I am hoping to get it delivered by early September (San Diego, Ca) which is fine because I am spending the summer in Greenwich, Ct and back to SD in early Sept.

Um. 7 days in transit?

To the east coast?

Your car was unloaded in the US.

It's 'At the port'.

In the US.

Because it's roughly as far from Germany to NYC as it is from Panama to Hueneme (the longest leg), and then NYC to Panama is only a little less. Remember, when we look at maps, long distances are horribly distorted.

When you measure on a globe, you can tell more easily. Plus, none of it is straight lines, UK, Cuba and Mexico get in the way. 🤓

I was a navigation specialist for 20 years in the Navy. This is my jam. 🤓

The don't go straight from DE to Panama, they stop on the east coast at least once to swap cargo in and out, and they get gas & food, too.

I've been at the Port for a week now and hope I can hop one of those ships. We'll see.
In the old days (1960s, 1970s and maybe later) all the transatlantic cargo ships could take 12 passengers - so you could travel with you car. (to get approval for more than 12 passengers required a doctor/medical onboard)

Here is a link to some information on putting fuel into the ships :
(WalleniusWillhelmsen need more than 700000 tonns of fuel every year)

They have plans to reduce fuel/bunker oil consumptions in the future: EV's transported by the wind across the Atlantics in 2025 :

Where do you think it is?
In the Metaverse? I think it’s in Europe and will eventually be in Connecticut. I just wish BMW would handle expectations better. They offer this great service of letting you “track progress” but if we step back it really just frustrates people because the data is not available or correct. I’d prefer that they push out info rather than pull us in to this useless website.

I'll bet you a nickel that 7 days of In-Transit was it crossing the Atlantic. (y)

The next time it is 'In Transit' will be on a truck to your dealership.

What that means is that BMW removed your car from the port for a software upgrade. When they returned it to port you went to the back of the queue and you will have no record of where the car was between leaving Munich and reappearing the sevond time at the port

I saw no ships crossing in seven days so far.

Many cars have been "in transit" to get a software upgrade, only to return to Bremerhaven again.

Ask your dealer whether your car was hit with a "stop sale" order recently.
