Hey all. I have a production # and possibly starting week 22 (after one delay, so far)…
I have ordered an i4 M50 in Dravit w/Cognac Vernasca interior (w/addtl options).

I have been mulling two Individual options to get a dash that is entirely black (vs bottom cognac):

The leather dash in black (4M5)
or
Extended Merino Leather Tartufo/Black (???)

Can someone share the cost of the second option? Im wondering if its not that much different than the Vernasca option ($1450) plus the Leather dash swap ($1000)?

Also, my dealer is concerned we may be too late to request a change w/Individual options or it will push me back in the queue. I know Individual takes longer, but will that mess up my ‘place’ in line?

Individual interior options may add up to 6 weeks of lead time to your build. It is difficult to estimate any lead time during these times of supply and production constraints.

Leather dash (4M5) is only available in black if you select Vernasca leather, it will be two-tone (black and seats color) if you select Full Merino leather. Full Merino leather dash will have contrast stitching matching the seats color (contrast stitching extends to the kneepads), 4M5 with Vernasca will have black/grey stitching standard regardless of the seats color. There is no 4M5 selectable with Extended Merino.

Current MSRP of 4M5 is ~$1050 with Vernasca, ~$4350 is Full Leather Merino, ~$2600 is for Extended Merino (no leather dash). Full Merino adds heated seats front/rear (about $450) by default. If you opt for Individual Manufaktur -customization outside production line- then you can select the leather dash full black with the stitching of your choice with Full Leather Merino for extra cost. Opting for Individual Manufaktur will add up to 6 weeks to your build for sure.

At this point, everyone is delayed, so mymom recommendation is to get what you want!

4M5 is a regular Individual option, just not in the USA option content for the i4. Once you want to customize it - different stitching color, different color of leather- then it becomes Individual Manufaktur as it has to be manufactured separate from the line options which are already built in bulk. .

Example: a common black dash, steering wheel and center console changed to Individual Manufaktur Brown

If you order the Merino Extended, you cant order the 4M5 option and the only thing you will get covered in merino is the seats, arm rest and the inlays in door panels. If you choose the "Full Merino leather", you will just be able to have the 4M5 leather dashboard and thats it. You will not get more leather than the Extendes version .The lower center console are not in leather, the top of the door panels are not in leather and not the bottom of the door panels either. And for that - they charge way more than the "Extended Merino" + "4M5 leather dashboard" costs separately.

Me too. I didnt ordered Merino because i cant have the M-sport seats. I will go to a saddler and do Merino conversation with whole door panels, lower part of center console, seats +++ in Merino leather.

Your dealer is not telling the truth.

It's difficult to get and they have stopped doing personal on MY2022 but will be available again on MY2023.

There are people on this forum that have gotten personal options.

Waiting on my Tanzanite M50!

Did your dealer contact the BMWNA VIP Ordering Specialist directly to process the Individual inquiry? Otherwise your dealer asked the wrong person, or just did not ask at all.

If you want it keep pressing it with your dealer. My CA told me no Merino for US so I sent him a screenshot of the Fiona red m50 on ship already headed over to a guy on here in Seattle. Dealer changed his tune real quick and said they would do whatever to make me happy but they will have to get my request approved by their regional guy once I have a production number. I ordered in January so my will likely be MY2023 anyway. I’m dropping a lot of money for this car and I want it the way I want it. I like both oyster and cognac but I think the matching colored dash is ugly. I want a black dash so opted for extended tartufo. Dealer had no clue about the 4M5 option until I told him. It’s your car you should be able to get it the way you want vit

Thank you for confirming my suspicions.
I’ve been frustrated with this (dealer) experience since this process began. (I placed my pre-order the first day they opened up last summer. Wish I had designated a different dealer when I paid the deposit.) I called BMW Genius today and they reconfirmed we can still request Individual for the i4 M50. I have asked my dealer to ask/try again, but we are running up on my production week and I’m not expecting much. Remaining hopeful, however…

Fully agree and will keep pressing! The bad news is my build is set for next week (unless another last minute delay). Its weird to me because I would think they would make every effort (in this case one phone call) to help a customer out. Surely the dealer makes something on the Individual option(s)?!
Anyway, glad to hear your request for the extended Tartufo was approved! That combo will look great!!

It does not work their way, however if your build status is 150 then no modifications are accepted regardless.
