Thanks. I don't challenge your subjective assessment. Since you replied, I added to my post (editing feverishly!), including more about comparison of the production i4 to the concepts.

Attached here is a visual reference I made for myself as I studied i4 in preparation for ordering one. I think it illustrates well how "the i4 eDrive without M Sport... alone within the current i4 lineup retained significant of the design motifs distinctive in the concept cars (ref. the front and rear clips)."

As I consider the comparison anew just now, I note to myself that among the production i4 designs, the eDrive40 without M Sport looks insectoid, while the others look mammalian.
I like those photo comparisons, and it reminded me how much I liked the concept (and I actually like it even more than the production look). That said, they all elicit emotion in me. Unlike the above vehicle.

I noticed some trend converging towards BMW's seamless two screens infotainment cluster. For keeping eyes on the road, a widescreen mounted high is much more sensible than a portrait iPad mounted low.

I agree with the forum sentiment about styling. That's not a car I would turn around and give a look of appreciation after locking. But I'm sure it will be a great SUV and do the SUV things that SUV drivers care about perfectly fine.

Aside from posting a 7+ seater on a sports sedan forum... which is probably not the right crowd.

I still see it as a Utility Vehicle. Armada/Sequoia/Expedition aren't exciting vehicles. If the price and specs are right, as someone with kids, going camping every summer... I may find this interesting and I'm sure there will be a market.

Anyway, without real final numbers, this is just speculation: If this is USD 55k with 350mile range and 275hp, the looks may not matter. If turns out to be an USD 70k with under 300mile range and under 250hp, then it's not amusing. So far everything I see on EV9 are "suspected" leaked information.

It really depends on the combination of pricing and specs. I'll bet they'll sell a lot of these as there are not many 3-row SUV EV choices and the current options are all $80k+ (not counting Model Y or EQB since those are compact SUVs with tiny 3rd rows).

I have multiple friends with PHEV Pacificas and my MIL has a Hyundai Palisade. None of the people I'm referring to would ever consider purchasing a luxury car. This would be a good option for them.

Photos of Kia's upcoming EV9 SUV have leaked online. What does everyone think? I think Kia did a pretty good job with the styling.
It's quirky, but in a different way than the EV6, much more blocky. A little bit soul-less I feel, I'm not a fan of the vertical headlights...

I think my SRG e40 looks a little reptilian, actually :alien:

Nothing groundbreaking looks wise inside or out. A little odd but mostly boring. My 21 Telluride is kind of the sam3 but how it drives is another story. Wife and I love it.

Personally I dig it just enough to keep it in consideration for the future. That being said I have owned a number of Subarus that many consider terrible looking 😅🤣

My edrive 35 is on the horizon highway heading this way around 3/27. Can’t wait!

Since we're having a discussion about EV concepts, Kia, and how boring/:poop:/uninspired this design is. I'm curious what you think of the concepts their parent company, Hyundai, is putting out in this sub 4-min video.

I'm mostly curious about the opinions on the N 74 vision that enters the video at the 2:05 mark. The RN22e already exist in a non "N" variant, so it's possible they product the 2nd.

I like the design of both of those a lot. The first one makes me want an Ioniq 6 N.

Glad that I'm not the only one. I like the Ioniq 6 N as well, but the N Vision 74 makes me say damn, lol.
Yeah. Hydrogen is stupid for passenger cars but I hope they make it as an EV.
