Keep in mind that Kia is supposed to be the group’s edgy sporty line, vs Hyundai and Genesis. Which is strange, I guess it’s edgy,

Huh?! Where'd you get that impression? Kia's produced one (maybe 2 if you want to count the EV6) sporty cars in their entire existence. Hyundai has been doing "sporty" cars for a long time with their N and Genesis lines.

I wouldn't say it's stupid for passenger cars, just crazy expensive to store/produce currently. Japan is betting everything on it, though, they may figure it out soon.
We have another thread about Hydrogen so I won't derail this one. :)

Tell that to all the food couriers over here. There are almost no pizza places here without at least one KIA.
It's more like if you can't afford a Hyundai you buy a KIA to get the same car for a lower price. It's definitely not a premium brand even considering the KIA Stinker.

Kind of like VW/Skoda or Seat (do they even sell Skoda or Seat over there?) Anyway, they share the same chassis and parts. It's mostly the design, and price tag, that differs.

There's more to the i4 than just the grille. And no, it's not a favorite of mine, although it kind of grows on you.

Anyway, regarding the KIA, It's not the grille that I find ugly (well not just that), it just looks blocky and not at all aerodynamic. It's like they borrowed the worst design elements from various cars and put them all together in one unfortunate design.
The rear, well, it just looks unfinished somehow. Same with, to give an example, Volvo XC40 Recharge. They spent a lot of time on the front and the sides but I guess they ran out of money when it came to designing the rear.

Someone is very sensitive about their KIA.
I will says Kia has no personality. There designs always "borrow" from other brands and don't make anything their own.

the things I read about Kia and the amount of full engine replacements, I could just never invest in one of their cars no matter what incentive or look they have. I hate car trouble more than any other daily announce.

Don’t blame then.

To each their own. I’m not super enamored by the looks of my m50, but the total package appealed to me enough to buy it. I didn’t buy my Tesla for its looks either. It was the sum of the parts.

Time will tell if it is a success, but I’m willing to bet the specs of it sell it more then the looks, just like many cars out there.

I think many here are a little unfair to this car. Our car is a conventional design, this is a very modern look, I think it’s quite striking and one thing about Kia, it is without any doubt the most improved make of car in the last 10/20 years, look at the new Sportage, not an ev but looks the best out of all the SUV offerered and the ev6 is recognised as a really great new ev. This is certainly different to what a lot of boring car makers are designing, many who won’t survive the next few years because they have lost their way. I hope this car does well, because it’s different and imaginative too, good effort Kia.
There is a waiting list on the kia EV's AND the Kia tellurides out here. Heck ,I see as many tellurides as teslas around here. The Kia EV6 GT is my fallback car is I can not get Merino leather. Same horse power for 20k less.

I would consider this EV9 as we could use a 7 seat EV, and I do not know what other EV has 7 seats.

I wonder why?
Kia and its parent company, the Hyundai Motor Group, have been snapping up former BMW employees such as designer Karim Habib and BMW M chief engineer Albert Biermann.
The EV6 interior looks like it was ripped right off of the i4 brochure

Kia is one of the brands that I do not see in my shop very often. This may mean they are more reliable then most other cars, or they disintegrate shortly after the warranty expires.

The author of this article doesn't understand the definition of hypocrisy.

It's not hypocritical for me to think the i4 looks good and the EV9 looks like a big, boring brick. That's just my taste.

Hypocritical would be if I say "You shouldn't make fun of dumb people." and then I mock the author of that blurb.

They've got a certain point! :ROFLMAO: I wasn't a big fan of the i4's "beaver tooth" look, but the i4 ticked almost all of my other boxes, and now that I own one, it's growing on me . I give Kia and Hyundai a lot of credit for putting out some pretty compelling EVs, and I kind of like the EV6 styling. Too bad they didn't put out much supply in the US after the $7500 tax credit went away for them, to the point I couldn't even find one to test drive... :(
