MY23 door panel storage ambient delete question...

First picture, MY22 with the door panel storage ambient, second picture is MY23 without... The holes are there, and I guess BMW deleted the storage ambient along with the door entry light since it's on the same loom which is missing on the MY23. Does anyone know the light's part number for the storage ambient? I know it's stupid but that's why it's OCD :p

Driver side compartment parts ordered! Will be using my partner's MY22 e40 and trace the outline for my cutout... Hope I don't destroy the dash haha...

Saw this pic and went on discovering it for the first time, didn’t notice it was there (my is an August 22 delivery).

That being said, the locking mechanism is the cheapest of the cheapest I’ve seen, it’s for sure the worst component I’ve seen on a car. It only closes if slammed hard, otherwise it falls, the “lock” feels like it’s from a toy. A complete contrast from the central lock in armrest, which is solid and well built. I wouldn’t bother retrofit this, and central arm storage is good enough for holding regular junk such as cards and stuff.

Do you know if the part numbers are the same for the rear doors as well ? Looking to do all 4 doors.

Are you also adding the light to the door handle area or just the lower pockets ?

There's actually no door handle lights on the i4, well.. at least not on my partner's '22, and there's also no hole for the lightbar on my '23. Most likely, I'll be doing the B&W speakers and lights upgrade too so the door handle lights isn't on my list right now.

Hmm... It's not gonna be a major upgrade, but the paper cone HK just don't do it for me, the B&Ws (hi and mid only) are direct swap and I'll still be using the HK amp and woofer, should expect a little bit more clarity and wider sound stage but would not be that noticeable, but the speaker ambient light covers will be lol Will test how cheesy it looks before deciding if I want to keep those ambient though.

Are they a dealer part?
Hmm... It's not gonna be a major upgrade, but….
I was already sold this far into your commment.
Are they OEM from a different model? Where do I get them and how much $$$$

I’ve been semi underwhelmed with the HK. The Bang&olufsen in my x5 sounds better. I didn’t realize there was an OEM’esque upgrade path.

They're OEM from other models, quite expensive everywhere, don't have the exact part numbers, still waiting for my supplier for the next batch at more reasonable prices. But beware, there're tons of fakes out there, although even the fakes sound better than the OEM HKs lol For Bmw G30 G20 F10 F11 F25 F22 F30 F32 F34 E60 E90 F48 G01 G05 X4 Series High Quality Audio Horn Speakers Midrange Loudspeaker - Multi-tone & Claxon Horns - AliExpress <--- FAKES ***

Components from BimmerTech and Bavsound will sound better than the OEM B&O speakers and the i4 OEM RAM - they are designed to have higher sensitivity than OEM speakers powered by the OEM amp.

The B&W speaker illumination can be added aftermarket to any speaker, if that is what you are looking for.

I need to know more! :) Is the B&W lighting plug and play in the existing harness or does it require wiring? Any particular components that play nice with the OEM HK system? I see some options in BimmerTech for the g26 4-series, but nothing i4 specific.

Found them haha, it's fiber-optic light bar to standard BMW ambient LED, should be piece of cake...

Fiber-optic door pocket front left 63316998139
Fiber-optic door pocket front right 63316998140

Air vents though, I think the lights are built in to the air vents but somehow missing the wiring loom, will take it apart later to check it out...
Did you find the P/N of the 4-pin socket of 63319891437?

Couldn't find the OE or TE ones, had to compromise using these Plugs Connectors Bmw | Connector Bmw Ambient Light | Connector Plug 4pin Bmw - 4pin G38 - Aliexpress Once I remove the door trim, should be able to see the part number on the other ambients.

Well, finally got around to install the B&W speakers, went with diamond tweeters for the front doors and the rest are regulars. Even though I only did all the tweeters and mids, I think it came out pretty good for what I'm looking for, it's has much much more clarity up top, and I had to back down from two notch to max back to 50% treble. And the mid finally don't sound "muddy" and much wider sound stage, but then I have to say that to justify the buy so please excuse me haha..

I still don't see any sub option that I'm happy with... While dampening the back of the door pocket isn't by choice, the BT adapters etc that I stored there rattle like crazy with any louder music, but dampening even just the back door pockets fixed 90% of the rattles, and as a bonus, the lows seem more solid even though I'm like 100% sure it's placebo.. Planning to enjoy more placebo by dampening the exterior of the OEM sub box too :ROFLMAO:

Now for the ambients... Hmm... It went well... until it's not.. Made the Y-splitter wire, made it look as OEM as I possible could, all hooked up and... no door pocket lights.. Played around with every combinations, wiring/different LED modules, the door ambient that I connected to remained on all along, just couldn't get the new LED modules to work no matter where and how I connect them to.. Finally, after asking several sources and were told the new LED modules need coding?!?! I have Esys but was told it has to be ISTA under BDC and search for new addresses??!! WTH, not sure how it can be identified when it's a slave to another LED module, but both sources said the same thing so I guess will just have to wait for a remote session and see...

Also decided against the aftermarket B&W speaker lights, the aftermarket ones do look kinda cheesy and require cutting and trimming which I don't like...

Did you try swapping the existing LED modules with the new LED modules, and see if they actually work with the OEM harness?

Existing worked on the Y cable just fine, both the Y end and the longer end, but the new ones (I've tried like 4) don't at all... As much as I don't see how the LED module needs coding, it seems to suggest so...

I would guess that all 8 LED modules are the same P/N, correct?

I think that they must be coded as they can be changed in color - and to change the color of the LED module output it requires a command, not a change of voltage.
