As this metric is described as consumption and is measured by the app in kWh/100miles, a lower number is good. So being -5% compared to the community means being 5% more efficient. All agree?
Yes you are right. Poor wording but when you are ABOVE the community you are being less efficient (thus the red arrow in the text), when you are BELOW you are being more efficient (thus the green arrow).

Strange way to word it in the app. I use 1% more than the average. Totally fine with that. I enjoy my car and don’t try to hyper-mile it.

I can’t get the Departure Time function to work. I have everything enabled in the car and when I try to turn “allow notifications” on it takes me back to the setup instructions. Any ideas?

For some reason I can't get the "My Trips" working. Says its not activated......I followed the tutorial, still doesn't work. Any ideas? Yes, I'm on 3.3 on an Android (Pixel 7). BMW is currently running 11/2022.50

Have had my i4 e40 for a week, and am feeling pretty good about these stats. I started with high regeneration (OPD) set on, but then ran an experiment with low regeneration (to increase coasting). Seems that coasting works better for me... so far.

App just updated and tells me 15% more efficient than community average.😜🤪🤣🕺
27.3 per 100 but still the GOM seems to work on entirely different principles.
Fully charged Friday for a trip that was 200 miles. FC 100% says 219 miles of range. Get in car, do nothing except set SatNav and moves to 239 🙀. Did trip and got back with 99 range left. Drives my wife crazy. She won’t drive the car because the range nonsense is more than she can cope with. We have no such issues with the Kia which does what it says on the tin range wise.

1% better than the average bear. 29.4 kWh/100 miles so far, for March. Quite pleased.

Interesting, it doesn’t appear that the end all be all number is the kWh/100 miles number, mine is 31.5 kWh/100 miles and it says 6% better.

Edit: nevermind, just realized you have an eDrive40… different stats.

Yea, but for an M50 you're doing quite good . . . efficiency wise.

32.4 kwh/100miles = 4% below community average for me.

I thought of another reason why I am not getting an efficiency ranking: Between now and February 6th, the Odometer hasn't even rolled over 1 mile.

Pretty hard to gather data with so little use. 🙃

Mine just tells me my own figure compared to February and nothing about the community average. I wonder why? When I tried it the other day it only gave me the community average. Are BMW tinkering with the app?

Eat my dust. Not bad for an m50!
So time to confess. You’re: 1.) Preconditioning while still plugged in. 2.) Only driving downhill. 3.) Never exceed 45 mph. 4.) Drive when the temperature is between 70*F and 72*F. 5.) Never use the heater and the A/C is always turned off. and 6.) Prius drivers honk at you because they think you’re driving to slow.

There isn't a lot to confess. I have the heating set to 21°. Didn't precondition but the car is garaged. The one bit you did get right is that the bulk of the mileage was travelling to Heathrow Airport and we had time to kill so I travelled at 65mph. But you will see that in February the efficiency was only 8% worse. Oh, and 65 on the dash is really 62mph in my car.
I only use Adaptive D. And, as @ssh will tell you, its the most efficient way to drive!!! (Throws grenade and runs)

One other small change to the app, the Remote Software Upgrade section now shows what version of iDrive the car is running.
