mine came with DAPP and hand free tail gate. but no wireless charging for phone. wonder if thats a software upgrade?
Did you request wireless charging with your build? If so, head to the dealer and see if the hardware is faulty.

Ya if you paid for it and you see the pad and symbol then absolutely what SSH said. As I mentioned in another thread my X3 had to have the wireless charging pad replaced twice
🤦‍♂️
Yeah, I’ve had 3 or 4 in my 330… and it’s still got issues with getting hot (especially in the winter when I’m using heat and on longer summer trips with the commensurate engine/transmission heat—I think).

I think I might do that. Maybe add individual paint color and something thats not readily available and see if I can push the production later. I would rather go back in queue that get a car that is missing the features that I want and need to cancel my order. I might just end up leasing the car if that happens but dont know if its worth all the hassles !!!
The thing is, you can only add individual options once.

You have to add everything you want because once you sign off on individual, no more changes.

Waiting for my M50......

Yikes. Thats not good. I might just have to go back in line. It really sucks. Ive gotten so used to the DAP given my smaller garage and the tight parking spaces at work that i really despise having one without it :(

My dealer in the US has been able to configure it on a 2023 i4 M50. However, the Driver Assistance Professional Package (5AU), and the hands-free tailgate are not available. By the time the car finally enters production, who knows what will be available or not.
Can you confirm if this is for a new 2023 model or a 2022? I wasn’t aware dealers could figure 2023 models yet

My eDrive40 has DAP (5AU) in its build according to its VIN #. Is it possible that they can remove it?

If your build becomes a MY2023 then DAPP will be removed. PAP is now only available for m50

Model year is encoded in the VIN; it’s the 10th character. It can’t be changed once assigned. If it’s an N, it’s a 2022. If it’s a P, it’s 2023. (There’s no “O” to avoid confusion with “0”.)

Is this a bmw issue? Cause I’ve not heard any other brand taking out a feature like the 360 camera, especially at that price point…
I haven't seen it in the mygarage app. Waiting to hear from dealer,if the cost sheet shows the deletion. Mine is due to go into production week 24, and would like to know beforehand. I'm also thinking, the sooner I know then I can decide about trying to locate a demo for sale. One way flight shouldn't cost too much, and then the drive back would be a good road test for charging stations.

At last check my car is in the Paint Booth and I checked the VIN and its an "N" so I guess it's a 2022. And it still has DAPP and PAP. Thanks for letting me know how you can find the car year in the VIN.

You heard about the BMW issues in a BMW forum, I assume? You'd hear of other brands in their forums, or with a quick search. It's happening all over the place. Searching for "car chip shortage feature removal" led me to these links from the last few days/weeks:

Chip Shortage, Covid, War Make Car Options, Safety Assists Unavailable - Forbes Wheels-- "Since chip shortages started popping up in early 2021, at least a dozen automotive brands have acknowledged deleting high-tech features such as automatic stop/start, touchscreens and park assist systems."

This all makes a lot of sense, but what is not clear is can they put those sensors and chips in after delivery of the car. It would mean of course having the car in the shop for a bit, but it would be better than not have the features at all.
I wholly agree that this would be optimal, but the sensors can be pretty painful to install, especially if it's not just a pluggable unit behind the bumper but rather, as seems to be the case withthe i4's hands-free tailgate opener, a sensor with rather a long wiring harness attached.

My hope is that this pushes automakers to make their options more modular. Especially with the service dollars drained from oil changes and the like, it'd be quite a boon for service departments to have racks full of upsellable features. "Well, DAP from the factory is $1,700, but we can install it later for $3k if you decide you love it!"

I think everyone who is contemplating cancelling their i4 order and buying something else, best to make sure the car you want to replace the i4 with has those same features that have been deleted. Looks like this is an industry wide problem, not just BMW.
