[Poll] What is the status of your car?

I have said it before: I like polls...
And yes, here's another one.
This one is actually pretty interesting: what is the status of my car?
Now, one thing about this particular poll is that those who participate should always have the discipline of updating their vote because the status changes all the time (at least it should).
And I'm not going to add every different kind of status, but certainly the most important ones, and there will be groups of status numbers.
So, let us know what the status is of your i4?

Maybe once your car is delivered you can give us a complete status:
  • Ordering date: Important!! (Can also be Demo Car or Canceled Order)
  • Production Date: If you know it, great! (Can also be Demo Car or Canceled Order)
  • Delivery date: Important!! (The exact date, please)
  • Type of car: e40 (Basic or M-Sport) or M50
  • Color:
  • Wheels: 18" - 19" - 20" and type of rims: 855, 858M, 859M, 860M, 861M, 868M, .....
  • Upholstery: Alcantara - Sensatec - Vernasca - Merino, and also the color
  • Extra: Optional

What‘s the difference between 112 and 87 and how would I know? Mine is scheduled for production week 22, so which is it?

That is a good question. I was wondering about this myself when I saw this list for the first time, many months ago.
I think below 111 it is more an administrative issue, while 112 and up really are the production numbers all the way up to delivery (factory stuff, the manufacturing of the car).
How can you know your status? Depends on where you are. In most European countries we depend on the dealer for that. In the US, you have the Genius line....

Oh, I know I’m in “Scheduled for Production” and I know that I’m scheduled for week 22, but which status number that is I do not know.

That would be 112.

Waiting on my Tanzanite M50!

I don't know if I trust the status. Mine has been scheduled for production for weeks.

In the Netherlands we don't get to know these codes. Don't know which option corresponds to a car already at the dealership with me counting the minutes to go pick it up! I will get back here next Friday to hit that final voting button! Can take a little longer though as I probably will spend little time at the laptop then....

Just an FYI, I have seen quite a few on here, including myself, that were at 112 a few weeks ago and are now back to 111.

Apparently, according to my dealer, this is possible because someone's car may be getting status 112, and therefore "is in the planning "to get a production date, but the delivery of the necessary components and parts fails in the end. So the status goes back to 111. That's what you get with "delivery on time" and not having a stock...

Yes, it seems that BMW has misunderstood the Lean methodolygy: You should lean the process, not the end product, which seems to be the case with i4

I also just realized, that I even shouldn't be complaining, my order is actually delivered. I have my 3 phase 16A adapter for Flexible Fast Charger already at home, there are just some items, that were left on backorder - like the car and the flexible fast charger :ROFLMAO: OK, enough of joking, I'll go home and play with my adapter...

I originally ordered in March, but my dealer had a cancellation with very similar specs to my original order and gave me first dibs. Mine is currently 112 with a scheduled production of Week 22. I am a little confused is that scheduled production mean the beginning of production or the finishing of production?

If you got that from the Genius line, it's the end of production. If it's from the dealer, it's the start. (Or that's how it seems to go.)

Thanks! I got it from the Genius Line. My dealer said it was due to enter production very shortly.
