When the BMW i4 goes on sale, its expected to be available in three configurations to choose from, an i435 (base model), i440 and i4 M/i4 M50.
  • i435 - single-motor, rear-wheel drive, 280 hp
  • i440 - single-motor rear-wheel drive, 330 hp, with overboost
  • i4 M/i4 M50 - dual-motor, all-wheel drive, 530 hp, 80 kWh battery, 0-60 in 4 seconds, 325 miles of range
Which one would you get?

The "Perfect" version for me is the i440 but with AWD. Next car is replacing my 335D. The i440 will likely feel similar as the D with its 425 ft/lbs of torque. I've never needed or wanted an M, and that's an expensive route to get AWD. Have you seen the snow we've had in the NorthEast? I would have already purchased a Tesla, but as the D continues to be very reliable, I am willing to wait to see what the i4 offers. Hoping it will be reasonably cost competitive to the Tesla 3. I'm willing to pay a bit more for a car that's assembled correctly, but not substantially more for similar specs.
