I see no issues with front, side, or back detection with my v1gen2.Has anyone figured out of the ceramic (XPEL XR PLUS or others) tint affects radar detector performance?
I have no tint in front but I have tint in the back. I didn't have my radar detector on almost at all in the i4, so I'll have to wait a few months to see how the rear detection works.I see no issues with front, side, or back detection with my v1gen2.

About Radar Detector Range | Valentine One | Radar Detectors
In our testing, we found that all windshields reduce radar detector range by a minor amount. Some windshields can ruin radar detection range by up to 95%.www.valentine1.com
So far with the Xpel ceramic tint, I'm not seeing impact for front, sides, back as I pass the various K band stationary radar.I have no tint in front but I have tint in the back. Are you talking about the ones that show your speed as you pass by? If so, I'm sure you know they're different from the ones on the cruisers (typically Ka Band, more complex) and the "Laser" radar gun which uses infrared. So far with the Xpel ceramic tint, I'm not seeing impact for front, sides, back as I pass the various K band stationary radar.
Yes. I've had Ka squaks both front and rear and it doesn't seem to me that the tint has impacted them. It's just easier to know with all the K around here. Are you talking about the ones that show your speed as you pass by? Since infrared is a type of light, and the tint filters light, I'm wondering how much it affects the radar detector. It's not a matter of if, but how much.
Ya that looks very nice. 15% looks so dark though for daily use, especially here in WA where we get 3 months of sunshine. 25% is legal here and I opted for 20%, though now I am second guessing myself. Had 20% on my WRX back in the day and while it looked nice, it did affect my vision, especially at night. Maybe my eyes just suck at night, who knows.I got 15% 3M Ceramic all around (nothing on the windshield). Posting multiple photos because it looks lighter or darker depending on the angle and environment. I debated between 15 and 30% (have 30% on my 435i convertible) I’m very glad I did 15% it looks amazing.
If you’re in central Florida, this was done by Tinterz with shops in Tampa and Orlando. Price was fair and attention to detail was impeccable. Best tint install I’ve ever had, and I’m picky.

Looks great. You just need to smoke the taillights and the front reflectors. I have 20% on my windows and find them very dark at night. Had 35% on my M4 and should have gone with the same on my i4. Btw, I have the exact same car as you. I love the BG and saw that it is no longer available on the US configurator.I got 15% 3M Ceramic all around (nothing on the windshield). woah really?! I didn’t know they discontinued it. I almost got Tanzanite blue but I actually do love it and have been really happy with Brooklyn gray.Looks great. Yes, it's a PPF film. I also did my front reflectors. Here are my taillights. I also dipped my badges.woah really?! I didn’t know they discontinued it. I almost got Tanzanite blue but I actually do love it and have been really happy with Brooklyn gray.
Yeah I was worried 15% would be too dark but in Florida I find it about right. I probably would have done 25% but they didn’t stock it, said basically nobody wants it. I don’t regret it though, the 3M material is super clear so it still has good visibility even at night.
how do they smoke the lights anyways? Is it film too?

That is a surprise. When they removed the M Sport from the US configurator, you could not get Brooklyn Gray or Portimao Blue without getting an M50, but that made sense because you could never get those on an e40 Sport. I assumed those colors would be available on the e40 MSport when it came back, but I see the US configurator does not show Brooklyn Gray or Portimao Blue available on the MSport now that it is back. Glad I got mine when I did (although I would not be surprised if it were just a configurator issue)!I love the BG and saw that it is no longer available on the US configurator.
The configurator has been like that for a while. e40 MSport is only available in a few colors. That is a surprise. Here is the tinted front reflector. I used a peel off and stick PPF and then cut around the edges with a detail knife.Looks really nice!
Thanks for posting pics, earlier too, your tint pics were my inspiration photos!
