Just got an allocation and I was told it was scheduled for week 45, though my SA is requesting Tartufo Merino and adding the 868M wheel package....so we'll see if that holds. Guessing it won't.

 

Called the Genius today and I'm also in week 45, at long last. Fingers crossed!!!

 

I called Genius yesterday and was given week 45 (order bank early July; production number 10/8). I contacted my CA yesterday to see if I could add back the Driver's Assistance Pro Package and Parking Assistance Package (found out from this forum they are available for e40 again). I logged in My Garage and saw that DAPP was added. No PAP. Hope the addition does not further delay the production.

 

New member of the Week 45 crew. My experience hasn't been half bad all things considered and compared to folks who have been waiting a looooong time:

6/23 - Placed deposit but they have no idea where I fall in their queue for an eDrive40.
7/13 - Surprise! CA tells me I have an allocation and to confirm my build. Really? Whoops! No, just kidding. He made a mistake and I don't have an allocation yet. That production number is actually assigned to someone else. I'm #38 in the queue.
8/14 - Now he tells me I'm #50 on the list. Whut?! Going the wrong direction!
9/8 - Moving up. Now #33 in the queue.
10/11 - Still moving. Now #25 in the queue.
10/14 - Another surprise. I'm told I have an allocation (for real this time). Confirm and update the build (and get to add PAP and DAPP again. Perfect timing!). Oddly enough, my production number is 7800 positions lower than the one temporarily given to me back in July... Sounds like I was given an allocation for a cancelled order. I'll take it!
10/23 - Sitting in status 112 with build week 45 assigned. Hoping it sticks.
10/26 - Now in 150 and have a VIN 🎉
11/08 - Built and awaiting carrier assignment
11/22 - Finally 193 "At Port"
12/02 - 195 - "In Transit"
12/28 - 193 - "At Port" (Arrived in Port Hueneme this morning)
12/31 - 195 - "In Transit" (CA advised it would arrive at the dealer on 1/4. LA to Phoenix)
1/4 - 198 - "At the Dealership"
1/6 - Delivered and in my garage! 197 days start to finish...

 

I was just moved back to 112 after a hiatus at status 111 (and week 49), and now at week 45.

Here's my current build week assignments: 36 > 37 > 38 > 39 > 40 > 41 > 44 > 49 > 45

Also moved back up to week 45 from week 48.

 

This is encouraging...i guess they got better at scheduling since the one week bump days

 

Selfishly, I was hoping I could quietly slide in on 45, but suddenly there are whole bunch more orders with lower production numbers than mine on week 45. I think the chances of my order getting bumped again just increased.

Oh well, I have been telling myself lately, "Maybe by Easter..."🤷‍♂️

Me too I’ve joined, what’s really frustrating about that is there are a few other uk orders who ordered months later who’s cars are being built, it would really great to finally get into production instead of staying at status 112 for coming up 6 months now, I know some are worse than me but it is still not nice keep being bumped. Hopefully now I have said this it may just get built next week!

 

If the poll responses are to be believed, we have 22 cars currently scheduled for week 45, which is quite high (in comparison), with 16 being m50's. We'll probably gain a few more after bump Thursday as well. Doesn't give me a good feeling.

 

Just got a vin this morning and notice that production begins! They must be running ahead of schedule—finally.

Still trying to figure out some rhyme or reason for the queue. One thing I do know, you have a lower production number, but made you reservation much later than me... so date of pre-order really doesn't mean anything. So then you think that maybe the sequential production number dictates where you fall... but then Poison has a production number near mine, #6803*** I believe, but he got his VIN just a few days ago. Could it be tied to the DATE you got your production number or must be purely based on dealership allocation and within dealership the queue as described actually is true.

 

Is the only way to find out your production status and scheduled production week to call the genius hotline (and if so, how long have you had to wait on hold)? I called once and was transferred to the "electric car dept" with a hold time of 20+ mins. Are you guys calling daily? Thanks!

Well, look at that! I'm now 150 and have a VIN. Prod date is still 11/07 so things are looking up.

Hmmm.... I just noticed that one of the options reported on my build changed when I went back to 112. "04T3" is now in my option list, and it wasn't there before. (My script checks the options assigned every few days, primarily to see if something is removed.)

Anyone know what 04T3 is? I don't see it on the BMWNA i4 Ordering Guide (the 7/22 one). I don't think it's something removed, since that typically has an "X" in it?

 

Do you know if removed options have an X at the beginning or the end of the option code? Just curious what to look for

Just received a VIN and entered the production queue! Ahead of schedule!!!!

I see in my garage that the options are no longer listed; only the interior and exterior colors. Is this a recent change they made to the site?

I’m still hoping I don’t get bumped again.

 

I called the genius line, to see if they could tell me what the option code is, and they apparently don't see the option code ID's, just the descriptions. She read through the options as listed, and they were the normal things I ordered, and nothing was missing or added, that I could tell.

And while I was there, I asked about my build week, still 45, as expected.

 

oh then its likely something that was standard. Maybe they are offering the key cards again?

 

I have been told by the dealer that my car (182 Released to pre-haul carrier) is showing no deletions and somebody confirmed that the car they have just received has no deletions.
