Since the i4 isn't a traditional BMW I imagine there are people that are going to be interested a BMW for the very first time.

So with that being said, what got you interested in the i4? Was it a photo or video? The BMW brand? Are you getting tired of Tesla? or something else. For me (aside from being a BMW fan) it's BMW bringing their expertise in making high performance and luxurious sedans to the electric world.

I’ve always wanted a “forever” car that is beautifully made and can become a classic. No point owning a diesel or petrol if that’s your aim as sooner or later they’re going to have to be phased out to give our kids a future. Teslas have poor build quality, Kia e-Niro (the other great EV at present that’s affordable) just isn’t inspiring. For me BMW are the epitome of decent cars. I3 looks weird and range too short. I8 isn’t practical.

I always used to love the 80s and 90s BMWs - so well made and easy to work on. Really hoping this is not only a shiny electronic gimmick but is actually a well put together proof of concept that I can spend a lot on owning and then keep forever. EVs have the potential to be incredibly reliable long lived cars and BMW if it’s going to support the car for 30-40 years like normal could really play on that...
