I've gone from seeing maybe two l4s in 8 months to 3 in a week. They all had their i4 and edrive 40 removed from the back. Not that I think it's a bad thing. Just wondering.

There are several reasons to debadge, over time they do discolor, as well as collect dirt and wax. It does make the car easier to clean. On my last Mercedes I did debadge the back. I have an e drive 40 msport and am considering debadging because I view the lettering as kind of excessive and I am getting the lower gray bumper wrapped in gloss black. I would never add badges from the M 50. I do wish the I on the grill was a little more bolder.

I know, most people trade their cars in, and the dealer would never say a word about missing lettering or badges. If it’s a big deal, they would simply replace them. I traded my debadged Mercedes in at Reading PA BMW and they didn’t say a word or take a long look. They just wanted to sell me a car.
