Beside that I really dont know if I can drive a car with such a front design (my hope is that there will be tuning parts?) I just came across another problem.

Here are the current wheels (sorry for German):

18" M Aerodynamikräder 858 M Bicolor mit MB 513km
19" M LMR Y-Speiche 859 M Bicolor / MB 511km
19" M Aerodynamikräder 860 M Bicolor / MB 512km
19" M LMR Doppelspeiche 861 M Bicolor / MB 511km

19" M LMR Doppelspeiche 861 M Bicolor / MB / Sportreifen 471km
19" M LMR Y-Speiche 859 M Bicolor / MB Sportreifen 472km
20" BMW Individual Aerodynamikräder 862 I Bicolor MB 488km
20" M LMR Doppelspeiche 868 M Bicolor / mit MB und Sportreifen 432km

I actually really dont like any of them at least the last 20" 868 are somehow ok, but I really would prefer 19".
But the huge point is the reduced distance.

Can anyone please tell why they get so low in effiency?

Besides this. Whats else to to? Just take the cheapest and the buy aftermarket ones?

I own a F36 and actually had real headaches to find the right ones and I am still not happy.

I believe you have several variables
1. wheel size (18>19 ok but 19>20 takes some range)
2. Normal vs performance tyres (you can see that with the 19” 861 there’s a 40km difference depending on tyre type. The 19” 861 with performance tyres are also included in “m technology pack” with the enhanced M brakes so be aware of this massive range drop
3. Tyre width. The 20” 868 are 255/285 whereas all others are 245/255. The 868 also include wider fender arches in the rear, a cool detail.
4. Normal vs aero optimized wheels. Tesla has removable caps for model 3 that increases its range.

if you want to replace I would get the standard 18”. And you can even keep them and swap for winter tyres or long range tyres.

as the range is still a concern with electrical cars I would recommend for maximum range staying with the 18” 858 or maybe the 19” 861 with normal tyres which are exclusive to the M cars and range drop is minimal.

see Tesla range table here depending on tyre size for several speeds
