Anyone find any companies doing some forged wheels for the i4 M50 yet?

I contacte HRE but they havent got any measurements yet.... Would like to get a 20" wheel that is super light weight yet can handle the weight of the M50!!! thats the problem it seems.

Ok, bad news. I was at the dealer today because my charging cable was not working properly. However, as I talked to him I mentioned that I'm looking for aftermarket wheels. He said I shouldn't buy them because it will void the warranty for everything related to the suspension/drive train and so on. Only original BMW wheels that are made for the i4 won't void the warranty.

So now it seems I have to wait 4 years to change the wheels, put on spacers? Come on BMW.
Spacers can’t possibly void the warranty. That’s total bull**** if that is what they are saying.

even changing the wheels sounds like total BS. Where is an official statement from BMW that says this?

The BMW service guys said that. They said if you bring your car for example do to suspension noises, BMW will ask what wheels tires and what else isn't original and then decline it if there are not original parts like the wheels, spacers and so on. I guess I have to write to the HQ to get an official answer.
That does not make sense. So many bmw’s change their wheels. I’ve had spacers on every single bmw I’ve owned. Only 5 of them but the dealer never had issues with this. Would like to see some kind of official statement from bmw that actually says that this would “void” your warranty. That is just so hard to believe

Their Gold finish is actually polished (not brushed) with Gold tint, kind of translucent between mirror-look and golden. Real photo:

These might look good on my twilight purple m50. But I’m worried about cleaning these wheels! Oh my. But I guess not much diff than the stock wheels.

I’m considering having some custom forged wheels made to look like this. Being nightgold and black two tone. 20” wheels, should be lighter than the nightgold 20” I have now that are m performance cast wheels. Thoughts ?

I would like to know if I can get custom wheel bolts for these to match the nightgold, as of this image is just chrome ones which not sure if I like this. And black may not look as good… not sure who can do custom wheel hardware

Actually I like the nightgold better but if you like the new ones (y)
They are both “nightgold” but the other design is from or similar to sls Mercedes. The design is way easier to clean the wheels. Not a fan of wheels that take too much effort to clean. But anyhow, the factory wheels are a nightmare, but there are worse designs for cleaning.

Got my Vossens installed today. I’m going to refrain from pictures until I get the car detailed. I stuck with my OEM tires and went 8.5 front 9.5 back. I added a 5mm spacer to the front and the wheels have a 13mm more aggressive offset in the rear. So my question relates to road debris. Do I need to get some protection back there? I noticed in the rain today a new pattern of dirt that was higher and more pronounced than stock. I see a few people have mudguards but is anyone running spacers/wheels that are more aggressive that is not getting rock chips? I’m wondering just how urgently I need to address this. Thanks.
If you don’t want rock chips, any size wheel and any miles driven will result in unwanted rock chips. Therefore, needing protection like PPF should be considered if your goal is to prevent rock chips.
Otherwise, if not? No need. But wheels won’t matter, a lot of behind the rear wheels will be chips on the rear bumper.
My car has entire vehicle wrapped in PPF. I don’t need it, but definitely prefer it. I hate rock chips.
:) I recommend PPF, my preference is Xpel ultimate Fusion film.

Any color, any road, they are and will be there whether you think they are or not.
unless you are driving on private roads that are swept a dozen times a day. Anyhow I only speak for 25 or so years of experience with body shops, new vehicles and installing clear bra. Any car with the smallest amount of miles on them will first get damage behind their wheels, this is where the tires throw up debris at an approximately 45degree angle from point of contact to the road. It’s just how it is. As I’m getting over 40 I’m losing my vision and see how maybe it’s possible to overlook microchips in clear coat, because of lighter colors it’s hard to see them. It doesn’t take long before it’s just too late. Maybe point of no return is first couple hundred miles, some stuff is more obvious and maybe after 3-4K it’s just too late. Putting clear bra over clear chips does hide a lot of the damage since the adhesive fills in a lot of the small clear chips and brings back depth to the paint.

I’ve owned lots of cars. Never had a problem other than my Tesla which had chips within 10 minutes of ownership. The i4 seems particularly adept at picking up debris on the rear quarter but no evidence of paint chips. I can’t justify ppf at the current market prices. It’s insane. Maybe on an $150k Porsche but not on an $60k daily driver. And I wonder why manufacturers don’t just put this stuff on high wear areas at the factory.
Because it requires skill to apply. And the parts they do apply at the factory are mostly messed up.
Just because you didn’t notice chips does not mean they are not there. I wish I could say I didn’t notice chips! I would have a lot more money in my pockets by not having to buy film. Thank goodness my labor is free
