Pretty sure that BMW borked up things in that regard pretty badly. People have mentioned the battery pack getting dropped to replace the charge port.

That'd be several hundreds of dollars/pounds in labor to replace a 50 cent/pence plastic part.

Only a week old and it breaks. I would see what the dealer says. Never hurts to get a quote if you live near by and have the time. High chance they will do it for free.

That is because the location of the other end of the electrical wires. The cost would be similar to people who have gotten the charging door stuck. Probably only a minimal charge at the dealer. Minimal charge at a BMW dealer can be £200

 

Can you glue it back?

 

Just push the bottom clip...it opens up both the top and bottom covers at the same time.

 

Thanks guys you guys are amazing. Managed to take it apart from the pictures and put it back together so the broken bit won’t affect it. I think my son closed the main flap onto the small cover and breaking a bit of it.

 

Hi my son broke this clip on my i4m60. 😭 Only had it a week. I take it this will not be covered under warranty. Anyone know the actual name of the part

You have my sympathy. Minor pint when choosing a car but no question a bit of quality on the BMW rather than those wretched pull off plastic plugs offered by so many.
