I am trying to do a software upgrade to my car, in the past it seemed to go without issue. I have a 2024, i4 m50. My Apple iPhone connects to the car without issue. I’ve got Apple play running. Everything seems seamless Bluetooth connected as well. When I go to do the upgrade, it tells me to connect to the BMW Wi-Fi. When I do that, it never looks like it fully connects on my Wi-Fi screen on my phone, it continues to spin and never connects. Anyone got any suggestions?

Go into settings on your iPhone. Find the MyBMW app. Check to see that the "Local Network" setting is toggled ON.
You know... i would follow the exact instructions on that screen! I sure did (no problems with install or app/status later).
On the idrive screen. That's where it first appeared. Then it said to do something with the phone. Then the idrive screen again. One of them said to drive and so i drove from work to home. Stopped by the roadside as it was stuck while downloading (easily fixed by connecting/locking the wifi between the car and phone with the password shown on the idrive's screen). A few months ago i was driving around in circles in the neighborhood wasting time/electricity. This time it was actually a useful drive home.
