Looking to wrap the frame of the grill in black and trying to decide if gloss black PPF is worth double the cost.

People who have wrapped their grill with vinyl – how’s the vinyl holding up? My main concern is rock chips.

People who have done the same with gloss black PPF – how does it look? Any lifting from the thicker material, or any silver poking out? I’ve seen here that many installers don’t have to remove the grill to PPF it, so concerned about the ability of PPF to contour to the shape of the grill frame.

Thanks!

I had a Stek clear bra on my black Audi in 2012 and it still looks great no yellowing and no peeling.

I did this recently. Had the grey frames on the grill and diffusor in the back wrapped in vinyl gloss black (I have the exterior shadow line package). Also tinted the tai lights.
Edit: its not vinyl, I got PPF

I did the ring and the inner part. Without taking it of, it was a PITA. Its holding great tough. I used 3m 2 series.

But I realised to late that its better not to heat up the foil and the grill so much.
Also I had to stich holes with needle to get out the air in the holes, I have no idea how to avoid this.

So with taking out the part and working on a table it would be much easyer.

Also I dont like the mate I used. I would look for a dark grey color between mate and glossy.
