Hey folks, I'm liking the look of the new grill and it looks to be a swappable part with the pre-LCI grill/bumper.

Has anyone by chance seen the part number for the LCI grill?

Moderator Edit:

I have edited the original post to add this link which gives suggested part numbers depending on each individuals car, compiled by @Saltkjelen . I've added it here so it is easy to find for anyone newly coming to this discussion.

i4 M50 LCI Grill Part Numbers

As @Saltkjelen has said, it is up to the individual to decide if they wish to order parts based on this information, there are no guarantees offered that the information is correct.

Moderator Additional Edit:

I've removed the reference to 'M50' in this discussions title. The part numbers listed are for the M50, so they come with the 'M' badge on the front but they will fit any i4.

If anybody comes up with a list of part numbers for the same grill with the 'i' badge, please add them to the discussion.

No, but I’d imagine you’d need to provide more information to enable anyone to help. For example, there are different part numbers for the pre-LCI grille depending on:
  • Power unit
  • M SPORT PACKAGE PRO
  • Active guard plus
  • Driving assistant professional
  • Active cruise control+stop&go function
  • Parking assistance system Plus
  • Individual option high-gloss Shadow-Line

Mine is with same equipment and I am also wondering can the grille be swapped out. It definitely looks better then pre-LCI version.

On mine the front radar is a different shape, and I have DAPP. Much more angular at the sides.

Fingers crossed they have the same tabs, I've seen videos on 4 series GC grill swaps and it can be done without taking the bumper off.

The new grill I think ties the styling together much better, the dimpled rectangles and silver ones underneath didn't link to anything else on the car. It needed a bit of beefing up.

My front radar is like the one in the top picture.

Looks like stock is slowing trickling out, as it (51 13 5 A79 D59) is showing up on a couple of US websites.

Unfortunately, they don't have pictures of the part, which makes it hard to be sure and also know it's got the cut out for the radar (that's going to need a new cover as the old one as the silver diamonds on it).

Schmiedmann.fi gives price 207€ and delivery time 11 work days. But does not say exactly if it the grille.
51 13 5 A79 D59 was the code I used

Nothing over here yet this side of the pond...how about there, is it showing up in parts catalogs yet?

I cannot confirm just by looking at the various websites, otherwise I would have done it.
I've not tried the local BMW dealer. Online it's showing on some US and Euro sites, but no images. I am wondering if they just integrated the radar cover into the grill to simplify things.

The Euro site lists it at €195 and I would take a punt on it at that price, but since we lost the culture war in 2016 and the site won't ship to the UK 😢

I ordered the new grille, arrived yesterday. Thanks @Saltkjelen for the part numbers so I was able to order the correct one. This is 51 13 5 A79 D59 because I have DAP and PAP. I'm probably not gonna install it myself and might take a couple weeks to get it done professionally but I'll post as soon as I get it installed. While the AE grille looks great I personally wanted to go the official BMW route instead.

I ordered from bmwautoparts.net based in Lithuania. They deliver to EU and cost for the part is around 195€ but you get some discounts depending on total order cost.

Honestly I didn't do enough research to know I also need a new radar cover, but I want to keep sensor stuff OEM so I also ordered the new cover (which costs more than the grille at around 240€). Thanks again @Saltkjelen.

I see, well it makes sense that you would need a new radar cover as the previous version is textured/pattern. Please take a picture and share with us if possible! Thank you!

@Saltkjelen - Thanks for sharing the part number! It appears that the radome [radar cover] also fits the M440 as well -- that's what's showing up in my searches.

So, in order to retrofit, one needs both the LCI grill and matching radome:
  1. 51135A79D59 Grill for DAPP and PAP
  2. 66319500096 Radome for DAPP
Also appears that in the US, these parts are around $575 total USD at the time of this posting.
