Has anybody seen the new offer of Connected Drive ?
Parking assistant professional is a new OTA extension of Parking assistant Plus.
It allows you to park your car in tight parking slot, parking remotely (up to 6 m) away from the car. You have to park it one time by yourself. Then it is memorized. You have up to 20 memory slots to store in the car. Furthermore it allows you also to reverse up to 200 m automatically…
I still do not know if it’s for specific IX or also for I4. I tried to activate it (3 moths free of charge option) but didn’t work. According to connected drive it should be released soon…..

I have PAP and PAPP, but i can only see this feature if i enter connected drive without signing in. i am also curious to see how BMW will handle the eSim feature once released in various countries. For the moment it’s only released and working in China, Germany, USA and Switzerland…..

I have an M50 with Parking Assistant Plus, Driving Assistant Professional, Personal Co-Pilot and all hardware that -in theory- would make this feauture possible but i don't see anything in the Connected Drive store that resembles what you're describing. But tbh i don't see use in it, and it would probably be too expensive anyway.

I don't expect more than what is described in the manual, but if for some reason they would include it in my car then I'd be happy to have it. Anyway, I have no idea why BMW left this out of the i4 when other, cheaper cars, like the Kia EV6 has it. It is definitely not country specific based on local regulations, since it is fine to sell the Kia EV6 with it here in Sweden, yet the i4 does not have it, but the iX has it. So I guess it's just a marketing decision of BMW. If they would offer it as an OTA update, then it's nice to have. Perhaps I would use the parking memory when I come home and must reverse up my drive way to charge, but mostly useful as a bragging factor to show your pals, not something I see as a necessary addition. On the other hand, I would not dare to let our Kia or BMW to park on their own, without me or my wife sitting in the car, other than maybe once to test the function somewhere safe, so the feature of self parking is useless. OK, I have seen demonstrations of the EV6 parking on it's own in spaces where the driver or the passengers could not get out, but come on... would you really want to squeeze the car in there...? I would not, that's for sure. I also never seen any use of reverse assistant. Tested once in my present car (it can reverse 50 meters) but that's all.

Checked this out, and it says «only available on iPhones with U1 chip and the latest version of iOS (Planned available 12/22)»

and this means it probably won’t be available for the i4 because U1 chip is one of the things required for digital key plus, and that isn’t available.

I kinda hope I am wrong thoug but we will see.
also, if someone has the iX they can check if they see its available.
