I'll see if i can find pics, but I have gone the plasti-dip route on a prior car and it does work. I see Pasti-Dip makes a glossy version now, which i have never used, but you would NEVER be able to get a gloss-black look like the video you posted with the regular Plasti-dip + their glossifier or pearlizer (which is what I used). With that method, the best you could get was a semi-gloss/satin look, which looked decent in a gunmetal gray color.
I still doubt even the new glossy version will look quite like the video you posted. In my case, the gunmetal color probably made this less of a factor, but i feel like a bright, shiny black, will start looking dull/dirty pretty quickly. I would be curious to hear anyone's first hand experience with the glossy version. Based on living with the non-glossy version, i would expect the gloss to fade. I had a tough time finding a method finding a product that did a good job cleaning brake dust that wouldn't also eat through the coating.
Powder coating is probably your best bet, but obviously that will cost quite a bit more!
