Has anyone experienced unintended acceleration in their 2023 or 2024 BMWi4?

No.

Anectdotally, in every forum (4) I've been on for EVs, [i4, Polestar and Tesla] in every case where an owner reported "unintended acceleration" the end result was the same:
Driver was in a one-pedal driving mode and pushed the pedal down, intending to stop, but accelerated because that was the actual command sent.
This was, by far, most often a result of trying to maneuver in tight spaces in 1PD mode. PS2 drivers and TM3 drivers crashing into garage walls is the typical case.

This is why I always say that D is better in tight / tricky conditions. Too many people mess up in one-pedal modes.

Has this happened to you or are you just curious?

If it happened to you, some details of what happened would be useful.

Yes. But only if Drive Assistant Pro is activated. You can override the speed of drive assistant with gas pedal only in direction up (increase speed), but as soon as speed limit allows higher speed than what you have using gas pedal, car will accelerate to reach maximum allowed speed). If you want to override speed direction down (slow down), you need to use brake pedal. This will disengage any driver assists.

Has anybody experienced another post from the OP?

It looks like the solitary post which started this thread has been his only activity on here.

Joined.......no introduction etc......waits 7 weeks.......1 vague post......nobody with similar issue.

I've been watching it since it was first posted ;)

It's only been a couple of days so far...

There was a recall on the iX for similar, with Cruise Control the culprit, which is why I mentioned it in previous post.

AI info:
BMW issued a recall for certain 2022-2024 iX models due to a software issue that could cause unintended acceleration, potentially triggered by accidentally re-engaging cruise control after it was disengaged, particularly in parking or turning situations

I keep seeing mentions of various forms of cruise control. I didn't think it could be engaged below a certain speed, but truth be told, I only very rarely use it.

Hi. Yes. I thought there was an issue with the pedal. Eventually got a red screen alert to turn off car. Did a reset and took it to Dealer. First diagnostics test showed no fault, but a further test brought up an error with a sensor. Was in garage for 2 weeks. Perfect since July.
