So I recently moved into a new apartment building that provides an electrical plug for renters that have EVs. My plan was to use the portable charger provided with my i4 and purchase an adapter to convert the 10-50p to 14-50r. My concern is that the way 10-50 works is different than 14-50 (lack of neutral leg?).
The person that parks next to me has a similar cable adapter to this:
https://www.amazon.com/Conntek-EV1050T-Adapter-compatible-Vehicles/dp/B00STD9SJY
Honestly I prefer a non Amazon option since I question a lot testing from their suppliers. I do not want to damage the car or charger.
Any recommendations?
I just wished that had uses a 14-50p instead. Clearly the people installing the plugs have no experience with level2 EVSE.
Attached is a picture of the plug at the apartment complex. As well as a picture of the adapter cable.
Thankyou.
Scott
