Why did I think this was released ages ago?

 

Because it was scheduled to be released ages ago.
I almost held off on placing my i4 order in February 2023 since the A6 was coming out so soon.

 

What is it with ze germans deciding that the US market should get crappier seats?

 

Cuz we're just going to spill our Big Gulps all over them anyway.

I'll read the reviews cuz I'm curious, but Audis have left me nothing but cold for at least 20 years... Not sure if it's the "used bar of soap" styling or the lack of any identity.

 

Well, I watched the reviews, and I gotta say, they look nice! The S6 is downright sexy.
Tho I liked the sedans a lot, I'd go with the Avant (wagon), as we have a sedan already & I'd love to replace my X5 and get away from an SUV.

Liked that you can choose the battery size (75 or 94); display screen(s) are nice, but almost no buttons.
Functional Regen settings, good power & range options, nice interior, kicking B&O sound system.

I surprised myself. I would cross shop these against the i4e40 & M50; they are slightly more pricey than the BMWs also: 70k -100k.

 

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.

My thoughts:

Sums it up, I watched the reviews, still don’t know what it is. Some sort of vehicle for sure. Keep at it Audi. Not going back to the brand yet though.

 

It does look really good. One thought I had whilst watching tho, a bizarre amount of "over-engineering" in some places like the dual charging ports with automatic electronic flaps - a speaker in the headrest for the driver so you can hear navigation guidance and not disturb passengers - yet no handles above the door and no buttons anywhere.

 

This, and the i4 is now becoming old tech.
Waiting for a decent looking "Neue Klasse". 2027/28 ?

 

I guess it's... alright? The design doesn't exactly knock me out but nothing about it really offends me either.
A bit to plain overall and doesn't evoke any excitement. Very Audi.

 

I have an audi and I don't think I will buy another one. The biggest frustration for me is the infotainment system. I don't expect iPhone level of quality software, but to me the UI is borderline unusable. Given the price I expect a lot more.

 

My issue with Audis is their refusal to put cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. That little stalk isn't my preference.
