I picked up my car last Thursday, is there anything specific that I can check out if I am on the version that supposedly fixes this? What does "I level less than 22-11-530 " mean?
I think it means what we've been seeing as 11/2022.53.

I level is BMW’s integration level software, it’s more than just the head unit, it’s basically the entire car’s ECU etc, you pretty much need ISTA to read the version, but it might be also coded into the key fob so your dealer can check it with the key fob too.

But no, it’s entirely different than head unit’s software…

I’m trying to get this update applied while my car is waiting on the parts from Germany (hopefully arriving early next week).

What part? Are they repairing something from your car? I understood this to be just a software update.
He is waiting on some other parts for another series of unfortunate events, might as well do the update if it's just sitting there.

So does that mean this is fixed then? Seems like the people who got the updated .53 ECU update are sitting pretty now...

Unrelated issue, and there was damage from the tow truck, so some front end parts are being fixed. While I’m waiting, figured I may as well try to get this resolved as well.

Late to the thread but this wrong GPS issue is such a pain. GPS is accurate for BMW maps but not Apple Maps or Google Maps via CarPlay. Is the consensus that only a dealer can update the car to the newer software that fixes it?

Looks like that's the only way, though the SIB is so new doubt too many people have tried it yet.
Also, it's the ECU software update that has to be installed via the BMW ISTA diagnostic tool - BMW hasn't made it easy for us to try this out.

Yes. See above about the ECU update.

I made uploaded the simple video visiting service center and what mechanic said..
It is not clear.. but software updated is the only thing performed.
check it out

He doesn't say what software he updates. It could have been the one from the SIB and he also did the iDrive update at the same time. We don't know.

I will be revisiting in following two weeks for the different issue. if it is not fixed, . hopefully happens earlier so that I can tell them to fix it again.
As the person above mentioned, the mechanic doesn't clearly state what was updated. Would you be able to check with them what they actually updated?
Since 11/2022.44 definitely does not fix it by itself and if the mechanic updated I-Level and you're not getting the GPS drift anymore, then this might finally be the fix everyone has been waiting so long for.

I asked but I only could talk to the rep not the mechanic.. so.. yep I couldn't get the detail.
but I will try to ask next time

I just called my dealer. He is unaware of the service bulletin but agreed to look into it. Pisses me off if a fix is available and the locals are ignorant of it. It would be great if there were a specific date and/or id to the service bulletin

The ID is SEL-P-65-20000874908561-02.
Apparently it's been sent out to dealers in Europe on the 11th of February 2023, so it's very recent. Might be worth another shot with the ID.

I sent him the id by email. He did not seem all that interested in a fix. I doubt the dealer has sold more than a handful of i4s and he says I am only one complaining

edit: he also suggested it would be fixed in a future update over the air

Yeah - if BMW has fixed it now on cars with iDrive 8 with updated I-Level ECU, that would leave the few of us with i4s/3-er/X7 LCIs with the issue. Painful how they have handled the whole thing.
Hopefully your dealer is able to find the SIB and applies the fix as it certainly does not seem to be an over the air fix for those impacted. I am planning on taking in mine next week.
