How do you clean the interior screen and buttons of the car without pressing all buttons and making iDrive go crazy?

I'm deep-cleaning the inside of my car, including all the screens and buttons. Even though I can turn the car off, it turns back on every time I press something. I don't want to accidentally mess up any settings.

Does the i4 have any type of cleaning mode or way to fully turn off iDrive?

I haven't found a "cleaning mode" for the display other than powering down the system (by pushing the volume knob for a couple of seconds).

Leave the keys in the house, and the screen won't turn on?

I only "dust" the screen every 4-6weeks with a MF cloth, so there's no wacky iDrive button presses -- I don't wet clean the screen especially when 5 minutes later my fingerprints would be all over it again, but YMMV.

But if you're compelled, @rollermonkey has got the right idea.

I use a Norwex glass cleaning cloth with nothing on it. Works the charm.

Just a large MF lens cloth, no wet solutions of any kind and light pressure. As suggested earlier, the key isn’t with me in the car either.
