Have you been getting spammed by lectron with regular emails about 5% off codes?
Nope. When I pre-ordered in October, I unticked that promotions check box. They should still e-mail me anything that has to do with my order, and nothing is in the spam folder from Lectron.

Pretty pissy we might have to wait until Oct 24 to use the Tesla Superchargers. Its about when I stop driving the car on road trips. 😕
However, magicdocks are still showing up in new places

Sometimes an offhand remark is meaningful.

remember the Berlin wall got torn down due to an offhand remark by a lower minister who was left alone at a press conference.
Even if Tesla has a Günter Schabowski, then that made a difference of only a single day.

The closest thing to an officially announced date for BMW access to V2 and V3 TSCN via driver-held adapters is early 2025 (not October 2024).

That info just makes me more pissy/salty.......................

I haven't seen any new Magicdock installations out here in the West.
No clue when these were installed/modified, but there are now some in WA. One site is out on the Olympic Peninsula, the other down by Tri-cities.

Oh, Moses Lake and George now show up on Plugshare as Tesla locations with CCS, that's new in the past 4 months.

That's good info, but unfortunately won't help me much. I live outside of Reno, NV and the two places I like to (sometimes need) travel is Eastern Sierras (California), Las Vegas and Bay Area California. Going into California there is only ONE Magicdock install (Placerville)......the next one is near Santa Cruz (Scotts Valley).......very, very far apart. To get to Vegas or the Eastern Sierras (very beautiful if you have never gone there) You would have to go down the Hwy 395 corridor which has a few EA stations (but with spotty uptimes) and NO Magicdock installations. There are plenty of Tesla SC's on each of these routes, but it looks like that won't help me until it looks like according to @Jonathan S. early 2025. 😕

You said no new magic docks in the West.
There's actually quite a few new ones west of the Mississippi River.
Just none convenient to either of us.

And certainly not in any quantity to move the needle.

I’m pretty sure that no new Magic Docks have been installed in the past four months.
And Tesla has provided zero information about any upcoming new Magic Docks.

Magic docks are now being installed pretty fast. Just not as fast as originally announced. They first said thousands buy end of 2024. That would equal about 150 locations, and I'm guessing they had only 4 locations by that date. Tesla counts connectors not locations. In the EV world locations is more important to me. But looking today they have about 60 locations. That means they are installing 56 locations per month. That will be 500 more locations by October, 4000 connectors. One third of Tesla chargers with magic dock. If they do that I maybe they will simply fit 100% of the chargers with magic dock. Wouldn't even need the adapter.

Another possibility in the future is new chargers not just Tesla, will have NACS only cords. In that situation the adapter will be needed.

Tesla has not installing Magic Docks at that rate. Instead, Tesla installations for Magic Docks have been almost exclusively in two rounds. And the last round was over four months ago.

This site is confusing.
Allot of good data here.

Shows 47 Magic dock sites in USA.
That's the good.
The bad is that it shows zero magic docks under construction and zero permits for magic dock sites.
The last one installed was December 20th.
So this means this adapter will be very important.
Only thing we can do is wait on Tesla to turn them on for the adapters.
I only don't know why Tesla needs to slowly roll out the availability by vehicle brand.
Makes no sense.

We don't know the reason but the speculation is that the timing was an incentive for manufacturer to sign on sooner - they would get earlier access to Tesla chargers.

A slow rollout makes sense from an engineering standpoint. If there are compatibility issues with vehicles better to address them one at a time.

^ Good points!

Also will give Tesla more time to build even more stations.

From the email I got for those of you who didn't get the email.

Well, not all permitting districts may require a new permit for this sort of an upgrade, so while zero permits sounds bad, it isn't necessarily definitive.

Unless my math is off, December 20 was a wee bit less than 4 months ago, so a new pattern isn't really established yet.

Not that it affects me much. I only used a SC once to make sure the TM3 I borrowed worked In that regard. I haven't even used an EA charger in over a month, either.
