Oh, then it looks like if I get the trim with a gap, it should still fit If I'm reading that rightThe “gap” is in the actual sport steering wheel - regardless of e40 or M50. What covers the “gap” is the e40 trim piece, so using an M50 trim piece the “gap” will be exposed.
This is an e40 sport wheel (DAPP and heat):

You need to order the G20 steering wheel to fit paddles, the i4 steering wheel has no paddles mount.I have decided to be the sheep tester and ordered paddle shifters lol.
I also ordered the m1 and m2 buttons and module, and carbon fiber trim. Also alcantara arm rest and alcantara shifter.
I hope everything goes smoothly.
White and yellow wires are not used, protect and tuck them.@larbel, @Technic, @Techwhiz1
Sorry to tag you all, but I need to wrap this up soon so I can charge my car tonight. 😬
2 questions
Are the white and yellow wires used (pics can be seen 2 posts up)
Do I have the new steering wheel harness connectors going to the correct spot (circled)?

Yes, it says G30. (It's the one you linked to for me.) yes, OEM buttons. I can recheck the connections later, but I'm pretty sure they're good. 🙁Hmm.. Does it says "G Platform" on the receiver? Are you using OEM buttons? Maybe check the PCB connections on the buttons? Couldn't think of anything else..
Yes. I guess it's working correctly. I assumed I could essential set them to a certain mode by cycling them to the mode I want and then using the lower buttons to change it if needed. At least now I know how they work. Thank you so much for the help along the way. I've taken a bunch of pictures to hopefully help others. I'll make a write up to pay it forward.Ok, to be more specific, here's how the correct functions of the buttons:
M1 - Let's say if you're in Eco and press M1, it will go to Comfort, and press it again, it will go to Sport. And from there, it circles ONLY within Sport>Sport Boost>Sport Individual
M2 - If you're in Sport, you press M2, it goes to Comfort and then the Eco, THEN it circles within Eco from there.
Isn't this what you're not getting?
I did mention it on my first post, you must have missed it. I don't use these functions so I didn't go into details.. They're built in function of the receiver, with or without the transmitter. They're also activated by default (at least on mine) and I had to deactivate them...“
Function 1 - Driver seat comfort access (Seat moves back at power off, and moves forward at power on)
Corresponding action - Program while with only rear left door opened.”
This is the first time I read this on this thread, is this only possible with the m1 and m2 buttons installed? I ordered them and they aren’t here yet, but this sounds unrelated and if so I want to have this happen in my car!
All I need to do is press the fob 6 times with the rear left door open ?
Just wondering, prior to you connecting the yellow and white wires, were the M1/M2 buttons working already?I'm still not positive everything is connected correctly, but I assume it is. Now, how do I program these things?
Bimmercode should have the Easy Entry/Comfort Entry coding for the seat moving at power off.“
