Doesn’t work on G series I don’t think…
This particular coding sequence may not work in the G-chassis (it is from the F-chassis) however “easy entry” coding is available for the G2x from the G30.

That is the reason that these paddles engage “easy entry” via hardware.

I've made an installation guide with pictures and links to how-to videos. Hopefully this makes it easier for others moving forward.

Didn't know there was a matte and gloss.

I ordered from paddle shifters so I think I got matte, I would have preferred gloss :(

I wonder how good their return policy is

The gloss matches the stock carbon fiber package if that's what you already have.

So since having this installed for about a day now, I've had it parking sensor error, an automatic headlight and windshield wiper error, and my Android auto won't connect. Could any or all of those things be related to this?

Edit: I'm going to leave this here in case it's helpful, but I reset the system by holding down the volume button for 30 seconds and the Android auto is back on.

Are you getting errors on ID screen or you're running ISTA or scanner?? I've never gotten any error pop up, only an "unexpected slave" error when scan with ISTA/scanner... And it can only be pick up after the M1/M2 is pressed, it won't see it if the buttons are not press after clearing. I don't think it's related, monitor it a few more days, if it repeats then remove the receiver to see if it's fixed?

Got the following installed today...

OEM M1 M2 button + retrofit kit
OEM Carbon fiber steering cover
M Performance carbon shifter (DIY gel coated)
OEM rear fender trims
Advance eye 3.0 Pro

Day shot before the install...

M1 M2 with the retrofit kit worked like a charm  Switching between all the diving modes like it should, it came with additional functions like, seats moving back at ignition off and auto window closure when ignition off, I didn't like those function but it can be programmed off.

I have the Eibach springs already, but can't lower the car just yet because don't want to deal with possible warranty issue, will have to wait till after the first service. And can only access the suitable spacers then...

The M1 M2 retrofit kit requires you to take apart the OEM buttons and replace the PCB inside, and the PCB is attached to a wireless transmitter fitted into the steering wheel. And then you'll need to remove the shifter console cover and add a piggyback receiver module to the driving mode buttons. So basically, it's a 100% harmless but yet very functional mod. Highly recommended!
where do you buy all this stuff?

The errors were on the main screen and not when pressing the buttons, iirc. They're gone now, so hopefully they won't come back. The only one that actually causes a problem was the wiper one when it was raining. I doubt that's related though. Maybe a trip to BMW is in my future.

Thanks for the guide :)
One question: Is it necessary to get the new steering wheel trim (4. or 5. in the parts list) to fit the M1 and M2 buttons?
No. Those are optional. I'll update the guide to reflect that.

My m1 and m2 buttons from paddleshifterz came, but I don't think it has the module. The module is only from the alibaba order right? I ordered from both because I saw someewhere in this thread you should order both

@larbel

The module is NOT OEM, and yes, Aliexpress is the cheapest for essentially the same module available else where.
Ok, looks like even tho the buttons came in I still gotta wait for the module then
