Recent My BMW App Issue (v5.6.2) w/ iOS 18.5

A small PSA and frustration sharing. This morning, I went to open My BMW (v.5.6.2) on my iPhone (iOS 18.5, 15 Pro) and was forced to provide my login credentials. I logged in as requested but the app crashed and continued to do so even after fully deleting and re-downloading from the App Store.

I then restarted iOS and the app was able to launch again without crashing.

Edit to Add: If you have the Watch App as well, you will have to likely reinstall it and restart your Apple Watch for it to sync back with My BMW.

Posting here in case folks experience the same issue.

Didn’t know App maintenance was also a thing. Sigh.

Yep, even Apple software needs the ultimate "have you tried turning it off and on?" of uninstalling and reinstalling.

Technically, it's BMW software running on iOS but I get what you mean. The real gripe is that most of the apps (probably 95%?) on my phone don't need this kind of treatment. They just work, no restarts or reinstalls required. Real puzzler.

I've been having diffculty right now getting the Remote Software Upgrade to take...I wouldn't be surprised if the app update from a week ago has something to do with it being so buggy. Sigh, again.

I don't love that android never tells me if an app has an update available. That's one thing I do miss from the apple environs.
