If only, when I try to look for a software update in the car I get a grayed out screen with a reference to contacting the dealership. First thing I did when I got the car in June was to update it to 03/2025.47 so it worked ok then...

For those of you who have successfully installed do you get any indication of progress when the update is being transferred from phone to car?
As I remember, no progress indication, just transferring. When it's done it says to park the car and that it is OK to lock it and leave for the installation.

There is an upgrade progress bar but you have to go into the "Upgrade" menu option in iDrive to see it while an upgrade is in progress (at least on iDrive 8.0).

As has already been commented on, it is pretty useless in indicating how far you are through the upgrade in time as it is far from linear. It is only really useful to ensure the update is progressing and you have to be patient as it gets 'stuck' at some points for some time and then jumps 20-30%!

After this mornings motorway commute it would appear the update has addressed my stutter at 25% power delivery. I want to test it a bit more particularly on a longer drive.

So will this really mean a visit to the dealership, or will the update still function through the app when it arrives?

Got greeted this morning when I turned the car off that the 07/2025 update is waiting to be downloaded in the app. Nothing new of course since my car is an old timer(2022).
I wanted to write the exact version but funny thing the app doesn’t show the version number after you downloaded it. I have to wait until it is on the car tonight.
I believe. It is version 07/2025.38.
hopefully that solves Some little quirks for me.
I am on the west coast if this makes a difference and I got the 03/2025 also over the air (the recall version). Before that nothing for over a year just like everyone else here. So perhaps BMW got a little better with keeping the car updated.

Yes sorry mine is 07/2025.38

If you have an OBD adapter, clear your error memory and it should become available again. Not sure if will fix itself in time.
Thanks, I do have a ODB adaptor left over from when I owned my 2021 M235i. I'll connect it up and perform a scan. (y)(y)(y)

You said stutter. Would "lurch" also be a fitting word? I've used the word lurch when describing an almost confusion of what the car wanted to do - accelerate or decelerate in heavy but fast moving traffic. Yet, when I drove from NH to PA last week I had no issues.

Just got this today.Still no Supercharger access. Any day now. We are in the last half of 2025.
The last official word was "late 2025", so they technically have until Dec. 31st. Technically. Which is, of course, the best kind of right.
